Lightning ranked 2nd best EV pickup, behind Rivian, but beating GM, Tesla, and Hummer

Too bad the Rivian is too small inside (for me) but otherwise I would prefer it too.

sw engineering manager,
I disagree on the rankings as well based on the Rivian being the smallest of the trucks they reviewed.

I equally agree with your disagreement, but partly as they regurgitated their prior years information, such as much of the specs are still from the 22 model year, and even thought they mention the Flash as their recommendation, later elements failed to mention it, such as during the discussion of the infotainment system tab. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

The Rivan is pretty sweet but I still prefer the Lightning. Would be cool if Ford made a Ranger or Maverick EV for those that prefer a smaller truck. I do prefer the Lightning over Rivian for two major reason. Lightning has Apple Car play and the truck doesnā€™t stand out as an EV to the untrained eye. Itā€™s nice to be able to blend in with other F150s.

Somebody could make a sweet profit making a "normal" front grill and headlights for the Rivian.

I assume this is true for Android Auto as well. I think lack of AA is a deal breaker for me. PaaK and door keypad too. I don't plan on buying another car for a long time but when an accident put us in the market last spring, we gravitated to Ford and ended up with a Lincoln for my wife.

PSA: PaaK doesn't work well in our Lincoln.

Disagree. The look of the Rivian is a feature not a glitch. The high lift over height of the frunk, however, is definitely a glitch.

Ok. For some the look is cool but I actually prefer the Light Bar. Just looks so cool at night. There is a lot of EV hate so itā€™s kind of nice to be able to blend in without sticking out like a sore thumb.

The Rivian does have a unique look, but I find it to be an acceptably pleasant look compared to the laughably unattractive cyberyuk.

I agree. Itā€™s a nice look. I know some that donā€™t like it but I do. The Cybertruck is hard to look at.

Yes Lightning provides both.

So true, and one of the things I donā€™t miss on not owning a Tesla is no Apple play.

Finally the ā€œmainā€ reason why spouse wonā€™t even look at a Cyber truck, is too much good and now bad publicity.

Yea some say that you donā€™t need Apple Car play cause you can get Apple Music and Map is better on the car but I just like Apple
Car play and the UI. Being able to see my messages and calls like I do on my iPhone.

Sadly I am starting to truly be okay with not having CarPlay on my M3, and it is not that I love the Tesla software that much, it is actually that I am more unplugged in my M3. I donā€™t reply to texts much in the car as the process is a little harder and the speech to text seems less precise. Where in my Lightning messages and calls are seamless when in CarPlay. (Not so much when going through Sync, specifically the horrible digital voice)

Would I intentionally buy a car without it, no. Has GM lost me as a potential customer until the give it back, yes. All said, am starting to warm up to it is not the end of the world to be driving a new car in 2025 and having to do things like it was 2007. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ˜Ž
