Here’s a thread I was hoping to never be a part of! So disappointing. I echo all the points made by y’all. I found one of you on Twitter and will continue to like/retweet the concerns as well.
Ugh.
Looking at TaxMan's spreadsheet, they have produced ~17k, while people that put in their info numbers at 526, so it's at best (most) a 3% representation. Not huge...

My math is different.
Thru September. Ford Press release says 8,760 deliveries
Taxman's sheet has 407 delivers thru 9/30.
So 4.6%

I was looking at the total production on the other sheet, but yea. Including the MY2023 production numbers, it drops my number to 2.6%. Either way, less than 5%, but I'm not a statistician, so idk if that's decent numbers out of the entire population?

Again: who is the logistics company that is contracted by Ford for the $1795 Delivery and Destination fee we all pay for ???

I think most that are experiencing the extended delays (>45 days) are not due to logistics issues. My particular vehicle has a "hold" placed on it according to my dealer.

Dealer told me that the truck I had a deposit on was waiting on blue ovals. Though they lied about literally everything else, so I have no reason to actually believe them.

Quite possibly true, and why it was held, not only for appearance reasons, but the forward camera is embedded in the badge, not certain how dependent blue cruise is on that feature, but might have been good enough cause to delay all these trucks wait on a badge/camera

Ford should have an option to pick it up from the factory like rivian does.
Dealer relations does not allow but I agree that would be ideal

METROSHOT, I don't think that there is a 'single' logistics for Ford, it depends on WHERE the new vehicle is heading, whether it will be by rail, and 'which' rail company, as well as if it will be convoy directly to the dealer, usually only if within 300 road miles.
They use several different rail companies, including Norfolk Southern, which came to me in the Atlanta area, although the initial rail yard might be CSX, which then drops the rail car, full of trucks, off at the appropriate rail yard for the 'final' rail delivery destination.

Once your vehicle reaches it's final 'rail unloading yard', then it will sit in the rail car until a logistics provider, with drivers, unload the truck and park it in a destination 'space' ... then, it waits for the trucking company that controls the deliveries from there to load it onto a trailer, assign a driver, and have them bring it to the dealer.

The vehicle goes thru MANY hands on it's way to you - it's not even a 'single' company that does ANY of this.

Didn't mean to sound rude, realized it was a little snarkier than intended. But my truck being late is 100% on Ford, and I'm pretty sure most people from production weeks 8/15 and 8/18 are in the same boat. They probably shipped it missing a part and are taking their sweet time getting around the country to fix them instead of leaving
100% on @Ford Motor Company

What they still don’t understand after 100 years, we don’t see a difference between Detroit, or our dealer, or whoever delivers the vehicle. It’s Ford. Period. And to have a chat or customer service rep point the finger to the dealer for explanation, or the Dealer to point the finger to Detroit for an explanation, it just tarnishes the brand. So many of us on this board are like me…. First car was a Thunderbird, then an explorer, driving a fusion energi, and we’re excited about the future and the lightning…. But to be left hanging in the wind is a tough look.

That GMC Sierra EV looks better and better every day my lightning sits in the rail yard.

This is the lucky list sorted by Shipping Time. For reference prior to today only 9 trucks that took More than days and 3 that took more than 50. LUCKY US!

CONGRATS! WE ARE NOW One Percenters!

@Ford Motor Company We good with this? How long is acceptable? How long until someone intervenes? How long before you provide transparent communication? 2 months, 6 months, 1 year?!?
Just got bumped another week on the Ford.com website ETA (11/9-11/15). What a joke.

I just got bumped again. 11/8-11/14.

Also finally escalated to my sales manager who said this is just the way it is now, and they hate it more than anybody. They used to be able to send drivers to the Chicago lot and get vehicles that were not moving but the unions put the end to that.

I know Ford got Lightning to market first, but Tesla and Rivan customer satisfaction is light years above the Detroit 3 because they dont deal with unions and dealers and they dont treat their customers like idiots.

I've avoided the Detroit 3 like the plague for years because I grew up with the garbage they were putting out in the 1990's and I'm starting to realize how wise I was. I had high hopes for Lightning but at this point I highly doubt this vehicle will ever wipe away the stain of being treated like a bag of s*I* by @Ford Motor Company
