Hi all,

today I recognized a lot of dust in the area behind the funk where the 12V battery resides. Do you experience the same? The street I am living in is not paved or tarred so this is where is is coming from.
I was wondering if there is any way to seal that area? Right now you can see light from the wheel housing.

Older threads from folks who frequent dirt roads noted the same, mines a pavement princess but it's getting nasty when considering winter road salt, etc....

I wouldn´t have done it at all but there was dust leaking into the frunk. So the cover is not sealing 100%.

Periodic cleaning is your best bet.

I stumbled across the same thing in mine.

We live off a dirt road and ours looked exactly like the one pictured in the thread.

Don't drive.

Cover, what cover? The frunk has no cover. There is a frunk, where you put stuff. It has PANELS to shield the non-tub part of the electronics compartment.

The dust is not coming in there, it is coming in the wheel wells, the front grill, and underneath. The only way to prevent that is not to drive. And, it's not a big deal, it's dust, and you can't see it.

How does one clean this? Ok to spray it down?

I blow it out with a small battery powered shop blower, similar to a leaf blower which would also work. If you have an air compressor with a blower nozzle, that would work too. A shop vac on suck or blow is also an option.

As someone just mentioned, a leaf blower would help remove some dirt/dust.

I also use a towel to hand wipe what the blower does not get.

I would not introduce a stream of water into any of the frunk electronics. There's zero reason to.
