Mangled wiring harness underneath driver seat

Noticed my seat heater was not working this morning. Turned the truck on and off, tried several different things, no luck.

got in it this afternoon and got an airbag warning light, I noticed that the airbag would not properly deploy to take it into service.

Took my flashlight under the seat and found this. There’s a destroyed wiring harness, which I can only assume has the seat heater wiring in it? The only thing that I could think could possibly cause this was that my daughter drove the truck yesterday and move the seat up a good ways, and I guess the harness got caught in the rail?

Lots of things happening here that I do not like.

Dang, that sucks, fair warning to the rest of us to take a look at how the extra loop is suspended, allowing enough give for seat movement but keeping it away from the rail!

Yes under 3/36. They might fight you for it but its incorrectly routed from the factory which caused it.

I noticed you had the seats recovered in leather. Did they remove the seats to do that? If so, dealer will likely deny claim.

The dealer did the seat work...so hopefully all this will get handled in one place.

Dealer is fixing under warranty.
Two cut wires are being repaired. They offered to replace but it’s on the main harness. Meaning entire truck would have to be taken apart. I opted for repair.

Same. Had a 17 Civic SI that the rodents went to town on my engine wire harness .
