New guy- just ordered today. Charge Station info needed-driveway charging?

Hello,

After "reserving" a Lighting another lifetime ago ( $100 May 2021), I FINALLY received the green light from Ford that I could actually order a 2023 Lighting PRO. I just placed the order, and the dealer sent it to Ford.

However, I just realized our garage is too crowded already, and my wife's car won't give up it's coveted garage spot.

Just how far will the charging cable go from the charging station? My truck will be relegated to the driveway, probably 20 or 30 feet away from the where I was thinking of installing the charger.

Also, I haven't been paying attention, but couldn't help but notice Ford's "Personal Offer" program while lurking today. What's the criteria for this? It seems pretty mystical, the Internet manager at my Local Ford Dealer was as non specific and non-committal as possible while discussing.

I have the same situation here - Garage is for my wife’s Explorer and I have my vehicles in the driveway. I have the charger on the outside of the house - it is rated for outdoor service - and I have about 15’ run but the cord may got 20’. I recommend not to stretch it.

Congratulations, it’s pretty exiting news. Yeah my FCSP has 25 feet cable. However, it came with my truck and I’m planning to replace it by a Tesla wall charger because it doesn’t charge my wife’s tesla and several other members here had the same issue. For some reason the FCSP doesn’t communicate with Tesla protocol. All types of adapters and DYI things were tried and not have success.

If you see any EVSE with a cable longer than 25’, make sure it’s UL listed.

If anyone is curious, the nice little cover in the above post is an RV port cover. I have used several to set up things where I would rather have the actual plug on the inside, yet the option to pull things outside too.

Thanks for the tip- that's exactly what I ordered. I needed to educate myself with some youtube on how to drill a 3 5/8" hole saw through cinder block- but in the end it's absolutely perfect, and functions properly. I needed to cut the back end off the two RV port covers (impossible to tell once installed) so the charging plug could slide through, but man these just make the install nice and clean.
I swear this truck rides better than my Jag.
