Today my cabin heater suddenly stopped working. The blower works but only blows cold air.

I read that there was a recall (cold solder joint, 7/23 - 8/23, it mine was built 9/23.

Does anyone know anything about this?

I have heard of several people talk about the coolant pump, or coolant circulation pump failing. Sounds like it’s probably just a 12 V water pump.

I was away for the weekend and just jumped in to my truck this morning and zero heat. I’m thinking it’s a software thing?? Makes no sense

I called my dealer and the service guy is seeing codes came up on it when I started truck this morning. So will drop it off and they will provide a rental for me at minimum costs and will try to get it in as quick as they can. No heat is a safety issue so hopefully they can figure it out and replace parts and or update system.

but my guess is a software issue

I have never had an issue with heat with truck in run mode. In Acc mode, there has been a couple of times where it did not get warm. However I don't think that has ever happened when I precondition truck using app.

Accessory mode IS NOT the same as remote start or departure timed pre-conditioning.

The HVB contactors are open in accessory mode, not transmitting energy to the 400v systems like the heater PTC, AC compressor or traction motors.

The heat went out in my truck in January in Montana ? Mine turned out to be the heater unit itself. It took a while to get an appointment, but it only took the dealer about a week to diagnose and replace it. I hope you can get this resolved soon, but just be glad this happened in April and not January!

I have issues with my heat right now. Works for a bit, doesn't ever blow that much. Then after a longer drive the other day was only cold error. I have an error code showing for a damper with an ODB scanner so it goes in tomorrow

So update on my story. Took it in assuming it was a simple damper. I had a longer drive where the heat just stopped working. Came back the next day.

Ford dealer has no idea what the issue is but did verify the complaint. So now I am waiting for ford corporate to help the dealer rectify the problem. Luckily got a loaner.

Still wish the dealers would provide an EV loaner for EV drivers

I would recomend caution with just using a space heater.

The heater is necessary for the battery in cooler temps.

Beyond that if you don't have heat it could be an issue with the whole coolant system, meaning it could affect heating AND cooling the battery.

Exactly, If the root issue is a broken circulator pump, then battery cooling or warming is impacted, driving and charging in extreme temps could be hazardous to the battery pack.

Well after a few days at dealership, corroded wire under Frunk . Not covered by Ford over the 3/60km warranty ( Canada). Corrosion is not covered. A failed part but not corrosion. $500cnd to fix ( all labour and a few dollars for a wire kit)
