2022 Lariat ER with Max Tow, was receiving OTA updates pretty consistently up until about 6 months ago.

it’s been to the dealership for service and was “up to date”.

can the 12v battery be an issue out of the blue?

Ford F-150 Lightning No OTA Update since September 5th 1741275546204-r9

Maybe today is your lucky day....

Sorry for the non-answer earlier.

The single biggest factor is indeed luck, no-one knows exactly how Ford determines who gets what updates and when, it's not sequential, not by model year, early adopters program or any rhyme or otherwise logic, so, for us owners it's mostly down to luck.

There's a couple of nice people on the forum, who can look into what happened (if anything) with your truck and it's OTA, if it failed for any reason and if there's any pending, search around a bit and send them your VIN.

If you have one pending and it failed you'd typically know about it.

Factors as to why it might not get applied are indeed your 12V LVB, but also the SoC on the HVB, if doors are open, neighbours dog is barking and at least 20 other parameters, but this shouldn't affect it being downloaded had you indeed won the OTA lottery earlier and was designated as the lucky recipient of an update.

That’s exactly what I’m pretty much figured. I thought by bringing it to the dealer they would be able to update the truck to the most current version.

Guess that makes too much sense.

Yeah, unfortunately there is nothing you can do to get an OTA sent to the truck. You just have to wait. The good news is, there is nothing wrong with the truck and you get to drive and enjoy it every day.

I went almost a full year between updates. Don't stress it, just remind yourself it could be worse. At least you didn't download a new OTA and it bricked your truck. I don't mind waiting after reading those threads.

Can and Will is two completely different things.

Every dealer can update your software through FDRS.
Few, if any will update it just because, as updating software isn't something they get paid for unless you pay them, or it's a recall CSP so Ford pays them. Plus, updating software isn't entirely risk free, worst case a bug gets introduced and now they're stuck trying to debug something they have no ability to fix until Ford releases another update.

So as the saying goes, if it works, don't fix it.

I have a 23 Lariat ER last update (10.1.1) was Oct 23rd last fall based on another thread there is a 10.3 that started dropping in January, I expect I'll get it by summer.

I was an early adopter and my friend just got the 2025 platinum. One of the nuances I’ve noticed that I was hoping was part of an OTA Update was the rear camera.

When in reverse, his truck offers a much larger back up screen than whichever version I’m currently running.

I don’t have a picture of his, but attached is mine and seems like a lot of wasted real estate on bottom half of the screen. I much rather have better vision of what’s behind me when in reverse IMO.

This can easily be fixed with FORScan in minutes. Message me the VIN. You most likely have a 2 in this location. Changing that 2 to a 3 for "stretch" will fix the small 360 cam view you have.

Got your message, and you do show a 2 there:

Ford F-150 Lightning No OTA Update since September 5th 1741295127725-

Your truck is on the latest Sync and IPMA software. It is actually very close to being fully up to date. I don't have a Lightning, so not sure if 22-23 trucks are supposed to have those buttons there or not like his truck does, but if your truck is supposed to have them, I am sure that can be fixed, too.

I can tell you that putting a 3 in that location with FORScan will for sure fix the smaller views issue.

Is this something that can be done remotely or at the dealership. I hate what has happened to my camera

Yes, the dealer can fix this. I don't remember what the procedure is called in FDRS, but it's in there.

This is very VERY easy to fix yourself though.

So needs to be done in person in other words. Any video you can help refer me to I am very much clueless in the world of fdrs although I do have the cable to connect to my truck
