Off Roading/Trails

I am coming to a new lightning from a Jeep Gladiator. I like to go off road and do some overlanding/car camping. How does this truck do on trails and forest roads? I am not in to rock climbing but I do like to go off the beaten path. I looked and didn’t find much on adding a lift kit to increase ground clearance. Just wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on off road performance.

I put a 2" lift/level on my truck after doing 2 belly rubs in my off road work, I have not had that horrifying grind since.

I notice on really rough roads my driver's door flopping around at the top, this means I should slow down or turn up the stereo, it is a work truck so usually I just turn up the tunes.

I got stuck once, foolishly proceeding up a hill with snow over ice, pulling a trailer, I think if I had turned off the traction control before things went to shit I would have made it.

In my opinion it is a good off road vehicle.

One belly rub location, there is a wicked drop (hidden) just in front of the rear wheels ...

You never go off road without these, we use them on an our FJ when ever we go over sand at the beach. just added to my Christmas List

Yep. Solid. Do you have a favored inflator? I use my DeWalt and it’s fine, but I wonder if there’s something faster and quieter and still easily portable.

Haha, yes this one takes a little physical effort but there's no harm or shame in a little sweat equity.

The only issue I have with the truck offroad is the turning radius, and that it does need the 2inch lift.

You will need to upgrade the tires.
The stock so-called "AT" tires are really only good for cleared roads, not "terrain".
