Regardless of how close the other vehicle in front of you is - the expectation is that once the truck is perceived to be "stopped" by me, the driver, and I let up on the brake, and the vehicle rolls forward UNEXPECTEDLY, there's no knowing how far it will go - yeah, it's "only" 3 inches, but you don't know that at the time, and that create a lack of confidence - auto-hold is supposed to HOLD, not roll.If you are that close to a vehicle where this makes a difference then you are way too close!
