PAAK door unlock - drivers side

What also boggles me is that PAAK works on bluetooth and it needs to be very close for it to work. However, I can open the frunk or tailgate with my phone from about 50 feet away, which is also bluetooth.

Working as designed. The phone or fob must be within 3 feet of the door. This is to prevent some stranger from accessing your vehicle in the parking lot while you are in a nearby store (for example).

This is from the Mach-E manual, but the Lightning is the same.

Did you ever get this totally resolved? I’m dealing with the exact same issue with my 23 Lariat. Out of the blue driver’s side front and rear doors handles will not lock or unlock. Just started a few days ago. Passenger side is fine. PAAK still works to start and drive the truck. I’m at a loss for why all of the sudden this happened. Hadn’t had an issue since I bought it last spring and now it’s acting weird.

This issue has reappeared for me. PAAK works on the passengers side but not on both drivers side doors. Unlock function in the app works and touch lock/unlock works on all doors with the fob. So a software issue has reappeared unfortunately. I also have a software glitch with ‘my key’ which requires GWM updates at the dealer. I just don’t have time to give up the truck. DCDC,BECM,ACM,GFM2,APIM were all recently updated by the dealer in a troubleshooting exercise which most likely reintroduced the issue.

Did you ever get your issue fixed? My Lariat started doing the same thing to the point where none of the doors will open with the PAAK. When I go to lock the truck, it just keeps beeping thinking the key is inside. I’ve removed all keys. Reset the system still the same problem.

Still having this issue. Will probably end up taking it to dealership, but I almost guarantee they’re going to blame the phone and tell me it’s a phone software issue, which it’s not. Something is wrong with whatever reads the phone on the driver’s side doors. Any suggestions on how I should describe this issue to the dealership?

When I eventually take it in, I’m going to describe it as a truck issue. I have eliminated every other possibility. I removed all the phones, reset PAAK in the truck. I also deleted and reinstalled FordPass. I tested another phone by setting it up as a key, but the same issue occurred. My wife set up her phone as a key on my truck under a different FordPass account, and she experienced the same issue. However, she has a Mach-E with PAAK and has no issues on her vehicle.
I even went as far as removing the battery for 30 minutes, but still no luck. I assume the truck has two Bluetooth antennas—one for proximity detection and another for in-car key. I suspect the antenna responsible for detecting whether the phone is outside the vehicle is not working. This would explain why the truck keeps honking when I try to lock it (thinking the phone is inside) and why it won’t unlock (assuming the phone is still in the vehicle)
