Pre-Approval Email From Ford

Just got email. Shame on Ford for sending an email with the header...."Great News". I am sure we all thought it was time to order, even if for only a second.

It should have been titled: "Mediocre News! You've been pre-approved!"

Same story. Dealer seems surprised I didn't get a wave 1 invite and I have a super early 5/19 timestamp. Pre-approval amount showed up before invites and remained the same amount for this e-mail. I think Ford just likes yanking us around.

Yeah, those are some very early numbers. The code is especially early. I think your reservation number is both super early and from one of the servers that was offset from the majority of reservations... because there are only a very small number of reservations below 10813xxx. The number density is much higher about 10813xxx, anecdotally anyway.

Are you #1 at your dealer, or were there other people ahead of you? If so, there couldn't have been many of them with a timestamp that low unless they were prioritized in front of you.

Yeah, the number is ridiculous unless I was buying a fleet of Pros haha. Or a Platinum with ADM.

Same here. First day time stamp, no invitation yet, but approved a few minutes ago for…woo hoo! Eighty. Seven. Thousand. Dollars! I’m rich baby!

What information is Ford using to decide how much money to preapprove? It's creepy that it varies by person.

I have lost sleep over the same dilemma; I haven't been invited yet, but question if I really want to order. What was your rational to not order?

For me it was just based on personal circumstances. I'm sure the Lightning will be sweet. I bought a Mach E and a Bronco last year. The Bronco isn't going anywhere, so I'd be trading in the MME if I ordered the Lightning. But I'm very happy with the MME, and I'm just not ready to part with it. I would have at the right price point on the Lightning, but I'd be coming from the MME with extended range, and the ER on the Lightning would be a must for me. Just not ready to drop almost $75k to get an extended range XLT, when I'm perfectly happy with the MME. Plus, my wife drives a Gladiator so we've already got a truck.

Anybody else laugh at the amount on the pre-approval? Ford must want a vehicle back immediately if I took full advantage.
I'm very certain if I tried to actually get a loan for the full amount of pre-approval I'd be denied.

Haha this seriously..I can't even option a fully loaded platinum to that amount..if anyone uses close to the max on that pre-approval you hood-rich and have a 1/4 tank of gas in your new E-class ??

I did not get a letter under the email I reserved.

I did get an email under another Addie were I had requested updates.

I'm starting to really wonder what prompted these pre-approved credit deals. I got it on my reservation page and now the e-mail. I'm retired with only investment income. I have no debt and haven't carried a credit card balance in my entire life. I borrowed for a truck 40 years ago. I froze all the credit agencies years ago.....Hey Ford...what's up here ??
