Did buyers get refunds on that? I read somewhere that if the dealer submits the completed purchase to Ford at the higher price Ford will invoice the higher price to the dealer. Again I read that here I don’t have confirmation on that.

I’m worried about this myself. I have a lot going on and spending an additional 5k isn’t going to fit my plans, and would be very upsetting given the time put into this purchase so far from research to reservation to going to the local Ford event, waiting to order and researching waves, and finally ordering and checking daily for build dates etc.

I could do the 5 on purchase if it was actually refunded but the unknown is a problem.
Yes, eventually after reminding the dealer many times - most have received a refund for the price protection.

There's a thread on the MachEForum: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/price-protection-refund-tracking-add-your-status.20179/

It really shouldn't be this way - to inconvenience the customer.

Another mini update—just spoke with another sales manager who informed me that all of the information I have been reading—Ford’s own statements on price protection, Tim Bartz’s videos informing consumers about price protection, and other purchasers who have literally just gone through this process—are flat out wrong. Literallly what I was just told.

He said that may be how other dealers do it, but that they do not offer price protection up front.

I still refuse to accept that as an answer. Whatever their gripe with Ford is has nothing to do with me. If I have 15 other confirmations that they are doing it incorrectly, I refuse to let them convince me the other 15 ways were incorrect instead of theirs. I will try to find another way to escalate this tomorrow with a higher manager or if I can find a ford regional contact.

To be fair, however, neither manager I have spoken with has been unpleasant or rude—we just simply do not see eye to eye on how the price protection is to be applied.

Being stressed out about a purchase of this size instead of being excited about it is simply awful. Ford needs to do something about it now instead of promising moon and the sun tomorrow. One source of info everyone can count on (transparency).

I agree with that statement. I was excited when they confirmed the $7k private cash offer because I thought that was the one that might cause issues. I felt 100% confident that the price protection was going to be a non-issue. Now that I've seen and taken pictures of my truck but can't take it home because of a stupid (and very costly) price disagreement that should be a non issue has really put a damper on this process.

Side note--It was hard to see at night but the Azure Gray Tri-coat looked really freaking sexy.

@Granger Ford @FordVideoGuy I know you both have been very helpful with members here and I have watched videos and statements from you both regarding this situation to help arm myself with information. Is there anything I can pass on to my dealer (that I haven't already tried) or a contact to reach to help me out through this process?

They are basically just saying "everything you're reading about price protection is wrong" and we do it our own way to protect ourselves--despite the fact that everything else I'm reading contradicts them. I don't want to burn bridges with them because I have a beautiful truck on their lot that I'm waiting to take home but their absolute refusal to do things the right way is a bit frustrating.

I would tweet the picture of your truck sitting in the dealer lot to a bunch of prominent Ford reps with something along the lines of "would love to take delivery of my new F150 Lightning but Ford dealers don't honor original order price". Super petty but really nothing to lose, we owe this company nothing.

Can start with: @Ford @FordTrucks @mrlevine @ebergg @jimfarley98 @TheSaidDeep @mtruby

I would have to make a twitter account first! If it comes to that I wouldn't have a problem doing it but it would be really disappointing to have it come to that. I'll see how tomorrow goes but if push comes to shove I'm sure I could get some retweets from our members to possibly get some traction.

Twitter is an absolute cesspool, I solely have one for blasting companies to do the right thing. Really sad that this is what our society has come to but it's alarming how well it works. Hopefully you don't have to go nuclear and your dealer does the right thing but it is an option on the table. Best of luck, and please keep us posted, I too am awaiting my PRO.

Worth noting I'd hate to see you lose the full federal tax credit because your dealer is deadset on playing games.

I don’t think I’d let the tax rebate get compromised because of this, as I really do want the truck. But it’s unfortunate that we’re basically being held hostage because if we don’t agree to their ransom demands they will gladly make a $20,000 dollar profit if I say I don’t want it.

If the dealer is going to stick to that, slam them in your survey you will be getting. You can even let them know your survey responses will directly reflect that dealers policies. That survey is partly how they get paid for processing your order and selling the truck.

I wouldn’t want to slam them or say anything negative until after I get the price protection reimbursement—if I’m forced to go that route. I’m sure they’d love to make things difficult for me if I happen to say some not nice things about their process.

You will be asked to fill out a survey before you get your answer back. Don't slam them here, let FoMoCo know in the survey.

this is the form you should get at the dealer regarding the 5K

It shows options for the dealer to get the rebate and apply it to the purchase SIDE A

Side B shows a direct refund from Ford to you.

I cant blame the dealer for wanting to be out 5K for 90 days but it clearly shows they have the option to do it either way.

disregard the numbers in the form its for a different car

not sure if this was posted but it kind of goes over how price protection works

https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/price-protection-refund-tracking-add-your-status.20179/
I haven’t heard of any scenario from other members where ford sends a check directly to the customer. Even my dealership said that I will only get reimbursed when they get it from ford.
The main issue is them refusing to take it off at the time of purchase. Not only are they not offering the price protection up front, I am also financing AND paying taxes on $5000 that I shouldn’t even have to be paying in the first place.
