Mini/not really update -- I spoke with him when I was about to head over to the dealership. He confirmed that my order price would be $54,750 even though my order agreement (in picture up above) is $49,750. He didn't say that I wasn't eligible for price protection, just that they wouldn't extend the price protection to me up front, and that any price protection they received from my order would then be sent to me.
I politely said that is absolutely not how this works, and you need to reach out to your Ford rep and get clarification on how to proceed. His defense was "we aren't guaranteeing price protection to you until we get it from ford". As if all the bulletins and statements and releases from ford weren't enough to validate price protection.
I told him we should wait until tomorrow to hear back from his ford rep instead of both of us standing there disagreeing with each other waiting for a phone call from a ford rep that won't likely happen until tomorrow.
It's pretty disappointing to have waited this long just to be held up because I'm having to tell someone else how to do their job.
