About a mile from the house my new 2023 Lightning began to lose power and stopped, with no way to move it out of the travel lane. The message received was: "Pro Power setting is nearly reached. Lower the setting via the SYNC screen to continue using Pro Power Onboard." This made no sense to me since I had never used Pro Power, and at that time I had never used Pro Power.

Did you know the Pro Power default setting on a new Lightening is 50 percent power? And once the battery went below this setting it shut the truck down? Makes no sense to me - I can understand the Pro Power being shut down, but what logic is there to shutting the truck down? My wife doesn't even want to get into the truck anymore!

Reaching the Pro Power reserve level won't shut the truck down. Something else is going on if your truck stopped.

That is why I assume it was a software glitch. The truck sent me several messages with regard to reaching some pro power limit and shut down. Perhaps you can come up with another reason why the truck lost power and eventually stopped cold.

if your vehicle shut down with the battery at 50% then you have a pretty big problem and should call your dealership asap.. The pro power message is just a warning to stop using pro power under a user-defined limit so you can have enough power to drive home from the worksite for example. That system should only be a warning and not impact your ability to drive at all. I think my default when I got the truck was something like 50 miles not 50%

Yes, you have something else going on, and it well may be a 'glitch', as you suggest, but ProPower will have no bearing on the driving of your truck.

my ProPower is set to only 'shut off' when the 'range o meter' hits 10 miles, which is usually right before I reach home, if else...

Definitely not a ProPower issue.

Whatever caused the truck to come to a stop is a legit issue and requires dealer intervention.

What happened after the truck stopped? Did you have it towed?

I am so sorry you had an issue. I will not say without more information that it is not 'pro-power.' I am sorry that your wife does not wish to travel in the truck again. All-in-all, I'm wishing only the best for you.
