Has anyone put a SmartCap Evo Sport on their Lightning yet? They sell them for the current F150 ( part# EV0306-MB )
, so I am assuming they would fit our bed as well, then, correct? Thanks for any insights and advice, don't want to buy a $4500 topper that leaks because the bed has some difference I was not aware of! Also wondering if you ever see them on sale, $4500 is a bite!

I don’t know for sure either way, but I would be careful. The mud guards and bug deflectors are not compatible for sure.

The cap should fit. The top of the bed is exactly the same as the ICE truck.

The bottom of the bodysides are different than ICE truck, and the bug deflector from an ICE truck wouldn't work because it usually attaches under the hood opening.

The advertisement doesn't list the weight? Stainless must be heavier than fiberglass...
I see the weights, not too bad.

My concern is if the RSI will seal well enough around the bed rail and rear above the tailgate ... lots of neat features, but water / ice will collect outside the cap on the bed rail... what about sealing the step in the tailgate? I have posted my questions in earlier threads, but no answers.

The bed is the same. The cap fits the bed. I installed mine in mid August. The third brake light harness connector isn't mechanically compatible with the Lightning though. I'm "on the list" to get a new harness when they source the connector... still waiting 14 weeks later.

No leaks so far. Be careful in protecting the gaskets. Drop the canopy straight down and do not slide it during install. Four people are recommended for install! There are also gaskets between panels that seal to each other during assembly. Dust intrusion is still an issue on forest roads. The pressure vent maybe slows dust accumulation slightly.

The tailgate gaskets' extra friction prevent the power tailgate from closing with the rear canopy door down. But, you can give it a push assist and the tailgate will close with the canopy rear door down. I installed some D-Rings inside the tailgate to give it a pull-assist if I sleep inside. With the canopy rear door open, the power tailgate closes with just the motor's power.

I have one as well, installed in September. Loving it so far. Rain doesn't see to be a problem, but I had to seal the seams. Power tailgate doesn't really work anymore because (at least in my case) the gaskets give a little too much resistance. But I don't mind the manual operation. If you go through a car wash you may get a little bit of soapy water intruding through the top vent. but nothing that can't be handled with a quick wipe (just be careful if you have stuff back there that you don't want to get wet).

Since I am the main driver, I have only had one opportunity to drive behind the truck to check the brake light operation. As far as I can tell, the light only comes on when the brake pedal is pressed. So as a 1-pedal driver I'm afraid I don't get much use out of the light. Very interested to see what you (vvgogh) have to say about that harness for the light. I had my cap professionally installed and they said they had to do something unusual with the wiring because it wasn't the usual F150 wiring connector.
