IIRC the old version of the Fordpass app relied on data transmission for this via bluetooth.

Bluetooth if close enough otherwise it would use cellular.

Correct, but I think it would fail to function when the phone was too far, for some reason that aplet never worked correctly over the cell network.

I never had an issue as long as truck and my iPhone had service. Although I did have to manually refresh to see data with a screen pull down IIRC.

It used to be in the old version of the app. Along several other useful features. The blue haired college intern Ford apparently uses for applications and firmware nixed it from the new version of the app. The masses have been complaining about it to Ford ever since. No word on them ever bringing it back.

It is unfortunately not data / control available through the API, so Home Assistant cannot do it. It wasn't there even before with the old version of the app. I wish. I'd have automated it for when I'm using Pro Power to power up the house.

I use Home Assistant to remote start the truck instead of the Ford Pass app. Much faster. Also use it to nag me if I forget to plug the charger in with checks at 8pm and 10pm.

How did you get HA working? I had the version before they changed the API but haven't seen an update allowing it to work again. I'm on version 1.68 and get the message that it does work with the API changes.

You need to add the branch known as 1.70 to HACS and follow it's instructions. The default 1.68 no longer works.
