Anyone else noticing a slight “clunk” when the truck transitions between on power and regen at low speed with one pedal drive enabled? It’s subtle, but feels like something is loose and shifting back and forth.

Not sure if it’s normal or worth a closer look by the dealer…

The first thing that comes to mind is the half shaft joint. Mach-E, Tesla, and others have had issues.

Yup, it feels like a lot of gear backlash...

Yes, I've noticed similar noises which seem to come from the front end from time to time. Reminds me a bit of a u-joint going bad. I don't have an answer yet but I'm thinking of taking it in to the dealer for a check up. I'm at 2500 miles so far.

Will have to listen, haven’t noticed an audible noise but it’s still hot here and I keep the windows up most days.

It feels more like drivetrain slop between power and regen. I should also mention it rocks a bit when moving to park similar to a vehicle with a transmission which I thought was odd.
I would agree with this. It happens at slow speeds. I don't agree it feels/sounds like what was captured in the recording. I believe what I have was first reported by @OutofSpecKyle in some of his early test drives.

It truly feels like slack of some sort. It is felt at slow speed.

I think this now makes the third thread on this issue. Click, Tink, and now Clunk. But I think we're all talking about the same thing.

Based on some other linked threads, it seems there are 2 distinct concerns, one around an audible noise that isn't felt, and one around a feeling that has no audible noise. My situation isn't making any audible noise that I can hear at least.

I also agree we are referring to at least two very distinct issues. Mine does not reference what has been described and recorded. It does not click (that I have noticed.

I very much agree with the description @2wheeltraveler describes in Post 1.

I have something similar. To me i can feel clunk in the pedal and I can feel it in the steering wheel. It feels like the motor mount is bouncing around or something. I have an audible creak over bumps too.

may be similar or something different on what I have.

Yup, add me to the list - all those things previously mentioned come to mind:
half shaft wear, universal joint wear, CV joint, "motor mounts", "slop".

I bought mine second hand, so it is impossible to compare to the "new" experience - as in, is this normal from the factory, or is it something that wore over time. I'd be interested if anyone has had this repaired, and if so, what Ford has to say about it.

Interesting your post because just this week I noticed it seems to be worse, or something about it caught my attention. It's just pathetic engineering. There should be not slop like this in a drive train - or even if it is masked by something else perhaps like the way the electric motors are engaged and disengaged - its not right. I likely need to go to the dealer and force a service write up. I've noted it before but they couldn't be bothered.

Mine has done this since new. It is worse in regular 1pd than sport 1pd. I don't think that it is a physical problem with the drive train because when 1pd is off and I switch from acceleration to brake there is no clunky feeling. It is not anything to hat can be heard. I don't even know if a passenger can feel it. The clunk reminds me of riding a bicycle coasting, then quickly moving the pedals without actually loading the pedals with any force. Like the difference between a cassette hub that has 18 engagement points (20 degrees of free movement before engagement) and a hub with 72 points of engagement (5 degrees of movement before engagement).
I tend to drive in sport 2pd fir as much regeneration on the "gas pedal" without the clunky feeling at low speed.

That it does not feel this way in 2pd and is completely smooth leads me to believe that it is a software thing, or possibly a software and hardware combination problem. Our XC40 EV is perfectly smooth in 1pd going on and off the accelerator, modulating acceleration/braking at low speed. It isn't a permanent magnet motor issue either because the Volvo has two permanent magnet motors. But again, turning off 1pd fixes the clunky feeling so it is probably software.
