So for the last few days, I have been notified in FordPass that there is an update pending ans it will be installed within the next 24 hours at the time scheduled (1AM) - in the truck, the software update screen also mentions an update, and part of the update is the 23B57 CSP that was on hold.

However, every morning I have a message in FordPass that the update failed for one of a number of reasons, none of which apply - truck WAS parked, WAS off, WAS NOT fast charging, lights WERE off, doors WERE locked.

Then it says if there are problems call them.

What fun.
Revise your install time to 15 minutes after a long drive / runtime that tops up the LVB.

Ok I'll try that...talk about a catch-22!

Or I think I could just leave the vehicle on for 1/2 hour in the driveway, I don't usually take "long drives" all local, short hops, but that should top off the LV from what I read.

OMG, it's 101F outside here in No VA.

DIdn't install the update although I left the truck on for 30 minutes then turned it off with the update set for 15 minutes later.

No error message about "interrupted" on FordPAss this time, but when I went back to the truck, it hadn't installed the update.

I like the truck but not the funky software/updates experience.

@chl. You could try a SEND LOCK in FordPass to make the truck talk to Ford servers, then go to your ford.com account dashboard and read the battery level to see what your LVB % SOC is.

https://www.ford.com/myaccount/?gnav=header-account

If your truck has to be in Inhibit Mode for an OTA, it's not going to work unless the truck BMS judges your battery has sufficient capacity and is over 80% SOC. I've had an OTA update fail when my LVB was 79% and then when I charged to slightly over 80%, the update's gone through an hour or two later. 😀

But even if your LVB is >80%, the BMS telemetry may not let the update occur if your LVB is on its last legs and low in Ah capacity.

Why can’t Ford do an update to include a LVB gauge on the steering column screen?

I've been monitoring my LVB charge daily for a week now. I've been trying every suggested trick to get it to 100% SOC, hoping that will help me finally get an OTA update after over a year. I did get the update for "improved communications" a few weeks ago, and about a week ago I got the Completed/Not Completed message for the Ford PowerUp 23-PU1103-NAT-VCE update. But that's been stuck there for over a week with no apparent further attempts.

I have the BCM updated module. But I've never seen my LVB SOC higher than 93%, usually 90 or high 80's. This even after a several hour drive, trying running it in the driveway with the fan on high...all the tricks suggested in other threads. Most importantly, I've attached my NOCO Genius2 trickle charger for over 20 hours. It's lights show the charge in maintenance mode (solid green), yet my LVB SOC remains in the low 90s. Is this normal or do I need to look into a LVB battery replacement?

The values on your LVB seem reasonable, the fact that you're not getting additional updates is controlled by the wizards at FoMoCo, eventually they will resume, the last one that failed may have expired or has been "pulled" for retooling.

ALSO: others have had unsuccessful install attempts, something might be wrong with the package.

Thanks for the suggestion I'll give that a try.

Not sure why my LVB would be on it's last legs, I bought the 2023 truck in January, but I guess if there is a problem with the charging of it...

Maybe the detection of the SOC of the LVB is malfunctioning...I have that module CSP to do but my dealer is waiting for the part...since May!

Well WTF @Ford Motor Company !

I mean Good grief!

Not seeing anything about the LVB % SOC there, but it says everything is currently fine with the vehicle.

All that shows is Tire Pressure, Charge Level and Current Mileage.
Is there a sub-menu for the LVB?

So FordPass keeps telling me there is an update.
Then at Ford.com dashboard:

What's in This Update?
Priority Update- Powertrain

Your vehicle has been updated with following:

Customer Satisfaction Program 23B57

We updated the Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) software strategy to adjust the way your vehicle performs if a voltage deviation is identified within the high voltage battery. This completes customer satisfaction program 23B57. There is nothing more you need to do to complete this customer satisfaction program.

SYNC Navigation

SYNC navigation has been updated to anticipate conditions along your route and schedule battery cooling to meet the unique demands of your trip.

Software updates are designed to help make your vehicle better over time.

23-PU1129-CBC-ODP
----------
So it SEEMS like the 23B57 CSP has been done "has been updated with the following."

If that means what it says.

Why do they put that info under the heading "What's In This Update?"
Whatever...

If 23B57 has been done, then the update error messages I got in June about it must have resolved without informing me.

EDIT: the CSP still shows up on my dashboard under Recalls as if it hasn't been done.

The AT&T cell service has been spotty where I am over the years, which is why we switched carriers to Verizon many years ago...maybe the update has connection problems due to the cell signal.

I guess I'll try switching to a wifi update and put the truck in the driveway where the wifi is stronger.

The "Charge Level" is the LVB % of charge status.
Definitely need the new Battery Monitor Sensor to keep the LVB charged up. I am usually in the mid-90% range when I check.

Yes, I suspect the sensor might be the reason I can't get this latest update.

I got one update successfully on June 26th though.

I finally have that sensor replacement scheduled for Monday.

I was considering putting the 12v on a trickle charger to see if that solves the problem.

On my dashboard at Ford dot com, the 'charge level' is clearly the HVB in miles:

Ford F-150 Lightning Starting to get LVB 12v warnings... charge level

I looked around for anything about the LVB charge level but nada.
Maybe because I have a Pro, I don't get as much info?

Sorry, one must go to the Account page, not the Vehicle dashboard. Strange, but true.
