Hmm, that's odd. I see it in the Files section (called "Shift_Box_Lid"). It looks like I can't post STLs here, otherwise I'd just send it here.
I tried to open the file in the sub folder but my slicer says "no geometry found"

I think Im missing something, I printed the version with the magsafe slot and the lid built in, but the lid isnt removable? So how would I get the shifter in there?

I printed the version without the magsafe and there isnt a lid, so I can print that separately.
ok i think i figured this out, i used a step file that had the lid as a separate object and just deleted it and will print it separately.

How are you guys cutting off the tabs on the shifter to have it just drop in? dremel?

Hey, glad you figured it out, I'll have to fix that upload so it's not so confusing.

As far as the tabs go, I used a Sawzall like a heathen. Worked well tbh

Just wanted to let everyone know (especially @asianman35), that I've updated Thingiverse and deleted all the console variants that included the lid (both for the stls and the steps) and replaced them with lidless versions.

Now, you'll basically just pick a console, then pick a lid, then pick any accessories. I've updated the description on Thingiverse as well.

ALSO, I wanted to mention that the wireless charger was designed based on my iPhone 15 Pro (without a case), and it just barely fits, so just make sure you're measuring for your device.

Happy printing/tinkering!

If anyone wants some texture on their 3d print, here is a cool idea for the cap.

I did a quick sample print of the cap (just the top) with a carbon fiber textured build plate and Polylite ABS. Use the flat lid….print it upside down. Kind of cool!! Worked first time out

That looks sick! The extrusion lines around the edges almost make it looks stitched too. Very cool.

FYI, I just uploaded a "full" TPU mat part. The one that was there before was kind of specific for the gridfinity version, but the new one goes from the front of the shift box to the front of the console, so it should cover the other options. Obviously it's up to you what you print it out of, I just named both mats "TPU..." because that's what I intend to print them out of.

Last note: if you do print the mats they're going to make the wireless charging depth even shallower, so it might need modded further to fit your need.

With that, I think I have everything in a pretty good place for everyone to play around with, so I'll probably leave it as it sits and move on to other projects now, but let me know if anyone has questions.

Have fun!

Hey all, I just installed the shifter and have a few tips, it took me longer than it should have for sure, but it works and thats what matters. For reference, I have a Pro with the 'small' 12" screen.

1. I used a dremel to cut off the tabs, super easy. Then used the sanding bit to get it as smooth as i could, didnt really care though since you dont see those parts. This part went better than planned.

2. With the 12" screen, I had to remove the trim surrounding the start button to get the HVAC out so I could fully get the top cover/cupholders out. Otherwise the area was too tight for one of the screws holding down the shifter (front right screw). Not sure if you need to do all that with the larger screen.

I unplugged the cupholders and removed the top cover, i was kinda wondering why the cupholders were even plugged in, given I dont have illuminated cupholders. After I installed the new shifter, I tried turning the car on and kept getting 'No Key Detected'. After a quick google search, someone mentioned the emergency key hole and I was like OHHH thats why the cupholders plug in. So once I put that back and plugged it in, everything worked as it should.

Then I was able to piece everything back together.

3. The Magsafe charger is pretty low. I have a pixel 9 pro (Not XL) and I have to put it in upside down for it to charge. Im guessing when I install the TPU mat, itll be even tighter or wont charge. We'll see I guess.

4. While I was in there, i drilled a hole on the frontside of where the USB ports are so i could feed the magsafe charging cable through, looks pretty clean.

Overall, I love it so much better, when you take the old shifter out, youll be surprised by how big and girthy the whole unit is, especially compared to the new shifter. Seems like such a waste.

Another tip: If you are going to use the magnets, insert them before you install anything. I tried adding them after all was said and done, and its hard getting into the tight spots with the shifter in the way and in the car, etc. Just do it before you start the install.

What do you guys think? Textured or pattern?
I vote textured as there are a lot of patterns going on there already.

Someone earlier mentioned possible spillage being next to cupholders...has anyone tried to put some sort of foam or rubber gasket above the rotary dial and below the lid (or cutout of the hole on the etsy version)?

Having the dial mounted at a slight angle also would help prevent damage from spilled liquid.
