Thank you for creating and posting this. I'm interested in a remix of it, with a cup holder large enough for a 46oz yeti Rambler.
What’s the diameter of that bottle? I’m working on a remix for a 3 liter Nalgene, which has a 3.5” diameter.

Last weekend I was talking to my buddy about this mod. We went down the rabbit hole awhile talking about modding an OEM cubby for the rotary shifter...and got to the point of looking for an Australian cupholder (as they are right-hand drive F150s and it would be on the left-side, where ours shifters are), then modding one of the holders for the shifter and you end up with three OEM ones.

This doesnt help your larger size request but it reminded me of my headspace, then.

Completed everything tonight!

Took 12 hours to print everything, and only 20min to install! I have a platnium with the large screen. I did not have to remove any dash components, I just removed the two side panels and lifted up the center trim. Super easy. This is awesome!!!

ps. The “L” button activates the Neutral lock for 30min; same as the original shifter!!

Here is what I used:
  • Polylite ASA in jet black
  • Carbon fiber effects build plate, using a Hilbert Curve bottom pa
  • Ford bronco LX6P-7P155-EH gear selector
  • TPU for the tray mat makes it all look super OEM.

Part of it, sure, but there's obviously a difference in overall print speed between 0.2mm layers and 0.1mm layers and 10% infill and 50% infill.
good point. I’m printing at 0.2mm, 10% gyroid infill.

It should function exactly the same. In reality, the only difference between these two GSMs is the ergonomics of the design. They are both drive-by-wire with the same identical functional outcomes depending on what mode the switch is placed in. Even the electrical connectors are compatible between them.

The GSM on the Lightning, as delivered, is not the same as it is on ICE F-150 with 10 speed transmissions. There is no +/- shift switch on the Lightning version because we only have single-speed trans. So our version of the shift stick is basically the same as a rotary shift knob found on the Escape, Bronco Sport, Maverick, and Mach-E. I do tend to like the knob design on the Bronco Sport more than the one on the Mach-E though...I may swap that... Hmmm 🤔
Mike, do you know if the Bronco Sport shifter is compatible? I like that design better too.

Someone was nice enough to leave me a tip on Thingiverse (first ever!) and it inspired me to try another build version out, haha.

I designed a version that I think will work for you (named the "Giant-Ass Cupholder" version, as the cutout diameter comes in at 105mm!) and it represents about the biggest "cupholder" the console design will accommodate. I think this would work for basically any other smaller bottle as well if you were to just print a sleeve that decreases the cylinder diameter to whatever you're looking to fit. I also created another "TPU" insert since this version completely covers the front left screw hole, so I'd highly recommend printing that too. Again, that doesn't have to be TPU, just my suggestion to make it all look nice. I also cut in a generic rectangular bin as well is a couple cylindrical extrusions to reclaim some of the last storage of this configuration.

Hope this is useful to a few more people. Files published to the original Thingiverse project!

P.S. I love fillets and chamfers as much as the next fledgling Fusion designer , but since those are very easy to add yourself (from the step files) and quite a bit harder to "undo", I'm trying to keep most of the designs as geometrically raw as possible. Just wanted to mention that in case someone thought I was a hard-angle-loving lunatic.
