Is there a way to increase the distance from another vehicle at a stop light when using cruise control?

The Lightning gets uncomfortably close to the vehicle in front when using cruise when at a stop light. I have the following distance at max which gives plenty of room when moving, but the truck seems to get right up on the vehicle ahead when it's stopped.

Our Tesla's stop at least 1 car length vs the Lightning stops just a few feet behind another vehicle which makes it uncomfortable.

Maybe some forscan whiz can find a way but there are no changes the end user can make to adjust this setting. For one, I also do not like how close it gets to other vehicles when coming to a stop.

I suppose this will reflect badly on my personality, but when someone comes screaming up and stops tightly behind me at a light I instantly identify the driver as wreck-less and/or an idiot.

So, not wanting such a person near me I sloowly move forward when the light changes, and the tailgater will soon jump to an adjacent lane, speeds by and often give me that friendly one finger wave.

Which I consider as confirmation that the driver feels I am number one ...
Often I am immediately behind (often him) at the next light and I haven't lost any time.

Yes there is a button on the steering wheel with 3 bars when you press them you should see a similar image appear on the dashboard small medium & far

Although I would use caution trying it to stop at a stop light. I don’t think it’s designed to do

Thanks for the reply.

That button only seems to adjust following distance when traveling. I’ve got it set for max spacing. It doesn’t seem to do anything when traffic is stopped. The truck inches forward and eventually stops from what feels about 24” from car in front.

my 23 Lariat and now my 24 Platinum act the same way.

Our Teslas leave at least 1 car length from stopped vehicles in front.

I always want the tailgating idiot to be in front of me instead of behind me.

He wants to know if the stopped distance can be altered, not the point at which the truck begins to stop.
