My latest trip to Colorado is coming up in a couple of weeks and I still don’t have the replacement adapter. I have little hope that the replacement adapter will arrive before my trip and I’m trying to decide if I want to chance using the old adapter. I used the adapter a lot back in July driving all over Texas but now I’m afraid to use it because Ford told me not to.

It’s going to be cold going up to Colorado so I can’t imagine the adapter overheating. Has anyone here actually had any problems with the old adapter? What kind of trouble could I get into if I use the old adapter on my upcoming trip?

No guts no glory.

It’s often easier to ask for forgiveness then it is permission.

Hell it’s their adapter. Who they gonna sue?

I used the heck out of my original (Mach E) Tesla adapter, now replaced. I'd just go on ahead and use it.

Was there any kind of notification or did it just show up? What was your original order number?

got a FedEx notice couple of days ago was cryptic who it was from but showed Dearborn MI as the shipping point so figured it was from Ford. I was in the #6200 range

I’m in the 47xx range so it doesn’t look like deliveries are sequential.

I agree the orders may not be sequential.

ddimit's was order #63xx from a previous post.

My order number was #5567 and I have no info other than 'in production' so far.

Just received my replacement a few minutes ago here in Tucson AZ. I had been checking my FEDEX app for any shipments to me or labels created and there were none. It literally just showed up on my doorstep. My original order number was FAE: 90002263. Haven't even opened the package yet. Wanted to jump on here and report arrival of the replacement NACS adapter. Ok...just opened the package and attached images of the serial number on the adapter and the foam packaging.

Here are the return instructions if anyone is interested. Package came with a fairly flimsy bag but I still have the original box and the bag is big just big enough to hold the original or replacement box. The instructions do not specify to use the box...but it seems the thing to do. It is a tight fit but it does go in the bag. Then there is a FEDEX return label provided.

I wonder what Ford Will do if you don’t ship it back 😂
That seems to come up in the forum from time to time. I have no problem sending the old one back on their nickel. I suppose they could put you on a "watch" list and any warranty work on your "damaged' charge port could result in speculation you used the "bad" adapter. Of course that does not account for the "bad" device given or sold to someone else.

So for my part no clue as to what Ford's reaction would be for a non-return. I will return mine and await another person posting what happened (if anything) when they did not.

Not exactly the same thing but I had a vehicle that came with Firestone tires that were part of a safety recall years ago. The Firestone dealer that replaced the tires immediately drilled huge holes in every sidewall once they were off the car. Purely a liability issue I guess.🤷‍♂️

No. I’m pretty sure they will just restrict your access to the karaoke app.

I can live with that. Don't have the karaoke app and any other update for that matter...Hmmm maybe I'm already on a naughty list and just don't know it????
