@Ford Motor Company
Several have posted about the "This Trip" not resetting the time or the miles on a random basis. It seems to work 95-99% of the time. I'm a retired software engineer and these sorts of bugs are hard to find/recreate. This doesn't happen often, so its hard to set up the right scenario for failure. I have had it happen several times, so I have been trying to observe what is different. There are 3 scenarios that I can recall that it has not reset. Each time I have done something different than "normal", which I define as Stop, Put in Park, keep foot on the brake and turn off.
Scenario 1. I heard that the Lightning would put itself in park when the "stop" button was pushed (turned off). I was curious, so I was stopped in a parking spot in drive and turned off the lighting. Yes the shifter automatically go into park. After returning to the truck, restarted and this trip time and miles were not reset.
Scenario 2. Decided to try the remote start via the app one morning to let the cab warm a bit. (Not a planned departure) Upon arrival at my destination, the seat moved back (easy exit function was turned on). I had to go into settings and turn that back off. When I came back out to the truck and started it, Time / Miles were not reset.
Scenario 3. This one is a little more subtle. I set the parking brake before turning the truck turned off. I turn off and exit the truck. I came back restarted and all is at zero. I do not manually release the parking brake, but put it into reverse and press the accelerator this seems to automatically release the brake. I arrive at my destination and turn off. I come back to the truck and turn on, the "This Trip" Time/Miles are not reset.
Here is another post where others has had this issue. https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/what-is-my-ev-driving-measuring.13633/#post-285355 It is not unique to my truck, so I don't think I have a service issue.
These three scenarios seem to involve the truck automatically doing something. Eamples: Putting the truck in park upon stop, remote start (profile issue?), automatically releasing the parking brake. @Ford Motor Company pass this along to the software engineers, as it could help them significantly in debugging this issue.
I have a 23 Lariat SR with a build date of 12/27/2022. As far as I can tell have have the latest Sync build (4.13?). I have the camera button at the top of the screen and the volume knob is a multi selector. I also have You Tube and NBC for entertainment. This looks like the latest that is getting rolled out.
If I have any other scenarios that the This Trip does not reset, I will add them to this thread. I would encourage others to do the same. To be helpful, specifics matter in something random like this.
