Some 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may exhibit This Trip mileage not resetting after a key cycle. This may be due to the software in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in May 2023. Replacement or reprogramming of the IPC will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS foradditional information and schedule service appointments for customers once therepair becomes available.

Since they are doing programming work in the IPC, can you get the team to put the battery SOC on the normal screen? And possibly find out why the "My Trip" numbers don't match between the IPC and center screen?

"This Trip" in the odometer has basically been a guessometer from day one. Sometimes it'll show the proper timer and miles from the start of a trip, sometimes it includes my last trip, sometimes the past two trips. It's basically useless. I was hoping with a dozen updates Ford would have fixed this by now. Posting in the off chance someone might know how to fix this or maybe it's just my truck that's glitching.

EDIT: This was moved to this forum (thanks moderator, didn't see this thread). Was hoping for a real fix not a crutch as I will surely forget to press the brake at shut off from time to time. Sounds like a real fix may be imminent.

I’ve had a Mach-E with basically the same software for over 2 years that still does this. I no longer bother to look at at the data. My Lightning is no different. Pressing the brake pedal seems to improve the odds, but it doesn’t always work.

Someone posted that if you start the truck in accessory mode (start without foot on the brake) before starting, it works. At this point, I’m too disinterested to bother.

Happy to report that after the latest update (frunk chime update), "this trip" is now reporting accurately and will reset to zero upon powering off the truck every time.

Mine seems fixed, too, but I haven’t gotten the chime update. I suspect it may have been fixed in one of the other recent ones.

Has anyone noticed that the SOC is now on the main cluster view? I haven't seen it on mine yet but others have reported that they have it.

Those who have it, have correlated it with the chime update. I haven’t gotten the chime update and don’t have the new SoC display.

I've had 3-4 updates in the last two weeks. As of this morning, I have the SOC reading on the main dash cluster. My last update was the frunk chime one.

Apologies if everyone already knew the fix for this lol but I hadn’t seen it posted yet. I’ve owned the truck for a couple months and about 3k miles. The “This Trip” screen on the gauge cluster seemed to reset kind of randomly. Some of the time the miles and time would be at 0 when I started up for a new trip, sometimes there would be miles or time or both from a previous trip.

The fix: I have found that if I hold down the brake pedal while shutting off the truck, on the next startup This Trip is zeroed out, every time.

I was probably randomly holding the brake, or not, when I shut down (depending on how I was parked, how long I sat before shutting down, etc). Now that I’ve made a conscious effort to hold the brake at shutdown, it’s worked flawlessly.

Again, apologies if I was Like the only person who didn’t know this haha. I checked the manual and I didn’t see anything about it either, so maybe this will help someone…

I've been meaning to ask about this for almost a year. A quick search led me to this.

Thanks.

I believe it also resets at startup while holding down the brake.

You can’t start the truck unless you are pressing the brake.
I think its if you press and hold the brake it will reset but if you press/start and release the brake right away it will not reset.
