Hate to ask and did a search for it and could not locate. Configuring an extended range Lariat (Wave 4 invite that I keep debating on). Anybody can help me what the two tire options are - all terrain versus all season? Don't usually replace tires till the OEM set wears out - for a 150 dollars if the all terrain has a more aggressive tread design seems like an option I'd want to pick.

Best guess is that the AT is a Hankook dynapro and the A/S is a General Grabber. This is based on photo's of the Prototypes and my not reflect reality. My dealer wasn't able to help me either.

The photos I've seen, the all terrain is a very mild tread pattern. Nothing like a bfg KO2 or other common AT.

The Pro comes with 275/65R18 A/T.
You get 20" All Season tires with the XLT 312A. You can choose to switch those to 275/60R20 BSW A/T as an option.
The Lariat comes with the same 20" All Season tires mentioned above. You can choose to make the same upgrade as an option.
The Platinum comes with 275/50/22 A/S BSW.

This is all in the Jan 4 Order Guide.

Right - but I/We would love the know the manufacturer and model of AT and A/S they are using. I am looking for the best Snow performance which can vary widely.

Knowing what the actual tires are to see the difference would be very helpful. The description is very lacking. Can't remember what came on my 2016 FX4 but went to the BF Goodrich KO2's. I guess the A/T will be the choice.

From my experience, you can't get that info until the vehicles ship. And, Ford can change at any time without notice. They won't ever specify that up front.

I was in your same boat. I upgraded for the $150. They don't list any range hit from the upgrade so I decided why not. It could be 3 years before I need a new set and figured a slightly more aggressive tread would be better than the standard street tire. Hoping the rolling resistance is the same on both.

I wonder how many in Canada choose the upgrade to AT...for some reason it is a $1k option here...can almost buy a set of tires for that price!

I was thinking the same, but if it is the Hancook and General tires from the Prototypes the General A/S are actually rated better in the snow

It can't be the same. In general, you should figure a 3% loss. On a vehicle getting 2.3 miles per kWh, you would get 2.23.

I upgraded to the A/T but then realized I'd rather put A/T tires on an 18" or even 17" wheel so I changed it back to A/S and will just do aftermarket (or take-offs) for my off-road tires.
