That’s exactly the one I bought for my last F-150. I absolutely LOVE it.

The rug is soft, yet super tough and it keeps things from moving around. It also makes it a bit quieter if you have stuff back there that might shift.
Another vote for bed rug, 11 years of abuse in current F150 and still great. Bak F1 tonneau, which I’ll probably do again. Still researching tonneaus.

Do we know that is still true for the Lightning? Just asking, this will be my first real truck.
100% true. It's all about air flow. Any pickup with an open bed drags air, eating a bit of power. I like a simple rollup cover. Super simple... rolls up in under a minute.

LOVE BedRug. My only debate is whether to just get the mat this time. It looks great fully covered, but I'm thinking of the mat.

I guess I'm looking at mat only plus a soft cover.

The main reason is I like the softness on my knees, and it's completely flat because there's quite a lot of padding and the bottom contours with the bed. You could sleep comfortably on it.

For those who have never seen one, the BedRug is like a carpet, but not absorbent, so it's easy to clean. The bottom is a bit like the foam in life jackets or pool noodles.

Since it's like a carpet on top things don't slide around or rattle.

It's pretty inexpensive and super easy to install on your own.

Great info.

But, Lightning has power outlets, will BedRug still fit?
As long as they have one for the Powerboost it should be fine.

Just keep in mind that the cover isn't just to keep things inside, but it actually helps aerodynamics, giving you better fuel economy.
I will see how it effects mileage. The two things that I do not like about the Ford tri-fold hard cover is that you have to lift the cover to close the tail gate, and the rear of the cover tends to freeze to the top of the tail gate in those freezing rain events.
If I get another cover I think I will go with the soft cover that lets you shut the tailgate with the cover closed.

Which Bed Mat do you choose for a new F150L? Drop in liner, no liner ???

The low profile cover has this issue (which I also disliked), but not the other hard trifold.

I've been back and forth in my mind between Line-X and a mat about 1000x.

As I get closer to my build date, I will talk to my dealer about what they have on offer, including tonneau options. Since the dealer is no ADM, I feel obligated to give them a few extra dollars as a thank you. I likely would've added these options when I placed my order, but I was too concerned for order delays and kept things as close to the standard options as possible.
Why not do both by using a Duraliner?

In my last F-150, the BedRug was pretty much solid, so I needed to cut it so it wouldn’t cover the lights. It was a bit tricky, because I had to pull the lights out, cut the hole, then pop them back in so it would look nice.

I’m sure we would need to do a similar cut, but I think it will be more complicated to try to avoid pulling out the outlets. Perhaps the face comes off like a house power, so we don‘t need to remove the whole power unit and risk getting a 240 volt shock.

In my case, I think I’m just getting a BedRug mat This time, so the sides will still be exposed, which is fine by me.

So cutting the holes is not an option for me. Hope they will make the one fits Lightnings.
