I wanted to put together a decent toolkit in case I have any issues with the truck while out and about. What do you all have in your truck emergency toolkit?
I carry a multi-tool and duct tape in all of my vehicles. In all honesty, although I am mechanically inclined, I don't think I would be able go fix anything mechanical on a Lightning,
Problem is when I am "out" I am usually in the middle of nowhere, so my basic tool kit is a chainsaw, pocket warmers, lighter, snatch strap and insulated coveralls.
That would give me the necessary tools until the Calvary arrives.
As Bruce said, 10 mm combo wrench for 12v battery and it can lift lever behind rear seat driver side for access to small space.
Other items below are just good things to carry in any truck.
Duct tape and folding box cutter.
Multi-tool and stubby ratchet set.
First aid kit and waterproof tarp.
Zip ties and cinch strap.
And specific to Texas, snake bite medicine.
Keep a bottle jack in the truck. The screw jack is not strong enough to lift the extra weight...Found out the hard way after hitting road debris and popping a tire.
1000ah boost pack - this was for 12v issues… as well as stranded people
Small crescent
Needle pliers & wire snips
Duct tape
Tow strap
Light duty ratchet straps
Work gloves
Various 240v adaptors
50ft extension cord
Bottle jack, 24” bar with socket for tires, 2x6 piece for under jack
Hi Vis vest or rain jacket (flats always in rain…)
Can of inflate foam
Windshield/drive fluid jug
Hammer
Various ball hitches
Mobile adaptor (being they aren’t on most now)
Paper towel roll
Emergency kit/pack with bandaids, tensor, etc
If I have a trailer on, impact wrench and sockets, jack-al, small air compressor, shop floor jack.
