Glad you and your son are OK.

This is my worst nightmare, being hit by another driver who totals my truck. I waited too long and went through too much getting my truck to have to loose it to a reckless driver.

I’m not seeing any crumple zone deformations.

If the wheel and suspension mounts are not ripped out or deformed, this might not be a major repair.

If they are repairing, please force the issue on new wheel, axle and brake components. You don’t want vibrations from ever so slightly bent components!

Glad you guys are OK. Being an EV it's likely totaled. Went through a similar process on our Ioniq 5 a few months ago. Adjustor initially said repairable. Then parts added up to 35k without teardown. He guessed another 15k after teardown so he totaled it.

As long as Ford sends the NACS adapters to all of us owners, I'm not concerned about holding off for that. I do wish that I could hold off for the 2024 for the heat pump to eek out a bit more range in the cold Chicago and Wisconsin winters, but, if it is totaled, I will be replacing with another 2023 because I won't be able to hold off.

Jim Farley did lead us to believe that(provide), but not gonna happen. Declining sales, and increased competition just not financially feasible to send for free. A short time after Farley spoke one of their Financial big wigs clarified, by saying they would be available. Cha-Chin.

realistically no reason for them to provide for free. truck was introduced with a different plug system, we got on board with that. Tesla chargers will be a great range anxiety, charger availabiliary alternative. But paying for your own adapter won’t be end of the world

I had the entire front clip replaced about $45k in repairs. Totaled depends on your state rules in Minnesota it is 75% of value, other states as low as 50%. If repaired make sure to go after diminished value claim. That was another $20k check the other insurance company wrote me. They won‘t volunteer this information.

I hadn't heard that, but not surprised. But, yeah, I bought a Tesla Tap early on with my Mach-E a few years ago and am happy to buy a NACS adapter.

Just my opinion, having worked at a Lincoln/Mercury dealership, but it looks like a total loss to me. New hood, grille, lightbar, bumper and cover, drivers side headlight assembly, fender, wheel and tire. With labor and paint, probably between $45 and 50K. Less if they can come up with used parts, more if they find suspension damage.

I will let you know if I might be able to work that out if it is totaled. Funny thing is, the dealer had just given me a free set of letters because they needed to replace a letter 'I' that had fallen off under warranty.

Thank God you and your son (and the others) are okay. The result could have been very different. It's important to acknowledge the alternative. Trucks can be repaired/replaced. Not as easy with people.
