...be rebooted once in a while.
Today CarPlay wouldn't connect.
Usually, a few taps and things get going.
Not this time, and of course I was on an hour long drive.
Then the drive back, usually with a restart of the truck CarPlay gets fixed.
Nope.
Now another hour drive.
Finally I did what I do when an electronic device is not making logical sense...I...reboot the iPhone.
Apple fans will say that can't be necessary.
It is, at times, and was.
After I reboot my phone, CarPlay connected just fine.
No recent updates to either device.
It will be OK folks.

Love it when Apple fans demonstrate humbleness.

Sometimes electronics/computers just have to be power cycled. Things have gotten better over the years, but that was even something tech-support would have you do first thing! I got to the point when I would call in for different things, especially Internet connectivity back in the day, first thing I would say is I have already rebooted the system and then they would say have you tried turning it off and back on and I would say that is the first thing I told you after I told you what my problem is, and they would say oh yeah….

I restart mine at least once a week just to free the ram of any cache and to reset the kernel. Same with my iPad and MacBook Pro. While iOS will close down processes in the background, it still does keep some things buffered.

It always is a good thing to do that reset, even us and sleep 🥳

Spoiler: CarPlay issues are nearly always the fault of the iPhone itself. Remarkable how people complain about infotainment, but give their phone a pass.
