I don’t see much different other than this
Yeah, that info was there before on the Service tab, but it was under a dropdown like Health that you had to tap to see the odometer reading, tire pressure, etc. Now, it's displayed front and center when you go to the Service tab. Not hiding anywhere...

Still no control to be added to Control center as detailed on Apple and noted by Farley as coming with iOS 18 - this FALL. I guess somewhere queued up behind those Tesla adapters.

Ford can we please add the following to vehicle status: locked or unlocked, any windows/sunroof open, frunk or tailgate open, door open. I have all this on my Toyota Highlander app.
I'm betting most of those sensors are not there yet to even have pushed to the app. Those are nice on the Grand Highlander though. At least the Lighting has the Speed Sign Recognition or Intelligent Speed Adaptation (ISA). That is one of the coolest features of the Lighting. I wish the Grand Highlander had that.

I’m not an engineer so you may have a point there. But I do know the truck “knows” and tells you on the dash when the door/frunk/tailgate/charge port door is open and it “knows” if the doors are locked or not. The windows I’m not so sure about, but would be amazing if the truck had awareness of them being closed or in an open state.

Using FordPass Home Assistant integration you are able to see a bunch of things that aren't available in the FordPass app. Ford's API has been recently revamped and 3rd party integration needs to adjust to the changes, but some of the items that were mentioned here were available and will most likely be still be available through their API.

Some of the sensors include 12v battery status, Door Status, Ignition Status, and Windows Status (to name a few, but there were various others). There were also switches you could control such as lock/unlock and remote start.

All that to say, the current platform has an active API that can do way more than the current FordPass app is configured to do.

Thanks. Had no idea about any of this. Are you saying someone could also just develop their own app or vehicle status page with these APIs? I realize we’re venturing into a whole separate topic/thread here.

The easiest method so far that I'm aware of is using Home Assistant, I'm not sure how the integration/authentication truly works between Home Assistant and FordPass. There are some considerations to be made when doing so, such as how often you poll/ping Ford for a status update that could result in an account lockout (24 hours) if polled too frequently. The last version of this integration I had there was a built in adjustable mechanism that only polled every so often to eliminate this problem, Since there's a new API I'm not familiar with, I'd recommend caution while it's not fully tested.

I had mine set up for quite a while and enjoy it for the added information as well as it just seems slightly quicker.

To not hijack this specific thread any further, I'd recommend anyone interested in this to read through what @Aminorjourney built which is a good illustration what is possible and it's customizable depending on how fluent you are with coding and tinkering.
