~$1000 for a 50' run of 100amp rated permitted wiring to location of charger (based on previous install of a 40amp rated outlet)
~$2000 for a panel upgrade to 200 amp (my old house has 100amp service panel)
~$500 for repair to stucco for the panel upgrade
~$2000-$3000 for a whole home inverter
~$1200 for a Ford Charge Station Pro (based on regular charge station MSRP of $799)

$7700 seems likely for cost for my situation. Of course, already having a 200amp panel will be a huge savings. I don't think $8K is too far off for many home owners.

There will be a need for an inverter, 100A of space in your breaker box, and an isolator switch to take your home off the grid. No, SunRun is not the only one that can do it. Lots of installers will be able to do this.

Remember the Ford Charge Station Pro comes with any truck equipped with the extended range battery.

Double check on the cost of the panel upgrade. Someone here quoted 4-5G to upgrade the panel. Not only you have to upgrade the panel, you also need to bring up to latest NEC spec including AFCI/GFCI protection for most branch circuits.

Thanks. Unless last 2 electricians were wrong, the panel should be about $2k. I had them estimate when I installed a chargepoint. Didn't make sense at the time so we just took off the put the evse on the dryer's breaker and disconnected the dryer since I have gas.

The technical specs are confusing. The SR has OBC (input/output) 11.3kW/10.5kW. I would think the output is the Backup Power part of the equation, but then on the marketing sheet explaining the difference between onboard vs backup power, has the backup power delivery at 9.6kW. Why would they have an output rating for the SR if it can't provide backup power? If it can provide backup power, why would the Ford Smart Charging and Connectivity marketing sheet say SR comes with 32amp charger and available 48amp connected charge station without mentioning the 80amp charge station pro available? The charge station pro is a separate sentence where it mentions it being included with the ER, but no mention of availability for the SR's. Thoroughly confusing.

Nice. That's what I am planning to do. We had electric water switched out to natural gas and now have a 30A circuit that I would use till there are more details on what Ford is planning and what aftermarket will support.

Power doesn't go out that often here, so, I am also having a 30A gen inlet put in with interlock and will use Pro SR as a backup with an extension cord if/when needed.

Couple of things. The ford rep (Ian) at the Lightning Tour ride along event stated that SR will work with 80A for backup power. Obviously at a reduced capacity from the quoted ER backup times.

The ballpark price given for the 80A upgrade is $1200-1500 but that INCLUDES the automatic transfer switch.

Don't forget to include the price increase to the 9.6Kw vehicle power if you are considering the 30A connection to a generator port feeding your own transfer switch. It is only a savings if you already have the generator port and transfer switch. Also note that 30A is the max current capability of the 240V plug in the bed.

Could a whole home inverter be used with a portable generator to clean up the power? Thinking about what would be possible to take a generator along in the bed of the truck as a backup plan when pulling a travel trailer.

Might be crazy, but can't the F-150 Lightning be used to charge (Level 2) other electric vehicles with that 240v 30a port?

What plug is on the 240V adapter of the 32A Mobile Charger? If the plugs are compatible, I'm thinking we could pull up beside another Lightning like we jump start the neighbors dead battery today and let them grab a charge using their Mobile Charger plugged into our 240V outlet in the bed.
