How many people on this thread are willing to pay over MSRP? Just how much money is the Lightning actually worth to you all? Let’s just start right now and tell ALL the dealerships out there how valuable the Lightning is worth and what the consumers are willing to pay. Yep, just go ahead and ruin it for the rest of us. IMO, keep your trap shut, make the best deal you can and don’t post anything on this forum about price. Dealerships are reading.
I will not be paying over MSRP, but this truck is very much a multi-tool. I plan on fully incorporating it is a backup power source for my house. I believe in having food storage for emergencies, so if I have a power outage for more than a few days, I won't be needing to drive anywhere. I can just use the truck as the backup and use my wife's ICE in case of a need for a quick outing. Someone previously posted that the battery alone is equivalent to up to 68k worth of a tesla Powerwall. Granted, I would never pay that much for the Powerwall, but it is worth quite a bit to me. Then you get the power and the luxury of the nicer trims, and I can totally understand why someone wouldn't mind paying the ADMs to guarantee an earlier car. Each person will have their limit. Mine is MSRP with as low as possible doc fees.

Good Luck OP. Let’s us know if you don’t get an invitation on 1st or 2nd wave. Remember that “Priority doesn’t guarantee an allocation” according to Ford.

I’m guessing that is because the dealer won’t be allocated enough to cover the priority spots. Not that priority spots that the dealers sent in won’t be honored.

We will soon find out. I’m just glad my dealer isn’t doing the whole prioritization game, or so I’ve been told. But who knows.

My dealer's response...

With the F150 EV lighting Reservations , Ford has informed us that during January 2022
They will be releasing order guides for EV .
With reference Pricing on EV you are correct in seeing Additional Fees on EV .
We have been told we will only Get Three EV's during the 2022 Model year and I have been advised
by the Owners that a $10,000 Additional markup on the EV's Lighting .
Reason for only getting Three units is that The Emission states will get the Main supply of EV's
Sorry for any inconvenience caused .
Paul Cotton
Kelly Ford
EV Specialist.

Summary:
- $10k markup
- only 3 for 200+ reservations
- Most trucks are being allocated to "emissions states" which I guess FL is not
- I'm already reaching out to other dealers
- this is direct copy and paste.... All the grammar and formatting is exactly as emailed

I always figured I'd be getting a Lightning about the time they are as gettable as other F150's.
Still not exactly sure when that is but Ford is going to keep building EVs from now on. And at an ever increasing rate.

Exactly, never forget that there were those who paid huge ADMs to own 1990 Miatas in 1989. PT Cruisers in 2000 and so many other HOT vehicles that were soon available for anyone who wanted one at a discount.

Snake, I do have this fear that this forum can influence dealerships to add ADM; “Why not, everyone else is doing it”. As many on this forum as already made claims, and warned the rest of us, to get the price, in writing, and signed, when we place the order. Does it really do anyone any good to brag about how much you pay over MSRP? NO, of course not. I think some dealerships are already considering that options, simply based on those members not getting the communication from their dealerships they desire??

Ford sells 900,000 F150 trucks every year, so, NO it’s not surprising at all. And, there’s not many people paying over MSRP. So, yea, the F150 is/has been the best selling vehicle Ford has.
Specifically stated In RED F150.

No one is bragging. This is a thread to discuss the ordering of a Lightning and that includes someone(s) who paid over msrp to secure a unit. I bolded your sentence above where you say they are already considering it….

Again all you have to do is look at the bronco forums to see what dealers are doing not to mention the few on here where dealers who previously confirmed they were honoring msrp have reneged. Just look at Koons, their 30K ADM was well before it was mentioned here. But feel free to blame the people here when your dealer adds ADM I guess.

Yes sir, I’m gonna blame those that pay above MSRP! Those are in FACT the root cause of the rising cost of all goods. ALL those dealerships you mentioned can post the $30k ADM as they please. They will drop that price if NO ONE pays that price. So we’re back to this “Only the Rich and Famous” will own EV’s cause they have the funds to pay above MSRP. I stick by what I said; “It does nobody any good to brag about paying above MSRP”.

In my defense I have just a couple more comments, then I will "keep your (my) trap shut".

If Ford or Dealerships want to search through this Forum to get info from us to push +MSRP they can easily find one Thread that stands out at the Top of our Index. I certainly do not want to "post anything on this forum about price" and "ruin it for the rest of us". I promise to not disclose any numbers in the future. It will be everyone for themselves.

Second, if you had actually read my posts I explained why I chose to pay what I did. My local, small-town dealership went out of business because they could not sell enough units in a tight market and was saved by a new owner. That owner explained to me why he chose to charge an ADM of $X,XXX instead of the $XX,XXX being charged by some other dealers. The ADM I am paying is going to help conserve his mechanic's and salesperson's jobs until he can build inventory. My state and town is presently nowhere as flush as some other states. We hope with Ford bringing several new plants here our future will be brighter and I support Ford.

ADM has evolved since the 1950's as a tool to adjust supply and demand to local conditions. It is only a tool and can be use badly by some merchants. It is up to each individual consumer to understand and accept or reject each ADM. I refuse to let anyone force me to join in a group boycott that would lead to a restraint of capitalism or true market supply and demand.

END.........................

The same could be said for those assholes who pay msrp! If nobody paid msrp manufacturers would have to lower the msrp and I wouldn’t pay as much!!!! Rabble rabble rabble!!!!!
