There is ample evidence over the last few years that support the F150 being close to the 500,000 per year volume. And it is impressive.
They also have earned the bragging rights to "Best selling truck for xx years in a row"

But what many wouldn't know is that Chevy and Ram sell those same truck categories in HUGE numbers too. Far closer to Ford's numbers than most might believe. Still, second place is not 1st. :)

Truth is, North America is a pick-up truck culture. In my opinion that culture is the only thing that saved any of these manufacturers during their low points historically.

I still say that up until the recent couple of years that has turned so many value equations upside down, an XLT F150 302A CrewCab truck with a $10,000+ discount off of MSRP was both common, AND more importantly, the MOST vehicle you could buy anywhere in the WORLD for ~$32-$34K

I mean a decent Honda Civic co$t as much or more.

Alas things are definitely changing. In so many ways. But I'm still convinced the American made 1/2 ton truck can be a remarkable value equation. And with Ford suddenly offering an EV F150 at an astounding entry level price, the future is bright.
We just have to wait for the supply/demand equation to catch back up for the truck buyer.

I'm in no hurry. I have vehicles that I enjoy immensely, while I wait. :)

In my defense I have just a couple more comments, then I will "keep your (my) trap shut".

If Ford or Dealerships want to search through this Forum to get info from us to push +MSRP they can easily find one Thread that stands out at the Top of our Index. I certainly do not want to "post anything on this forum about price" and "ruin it for the rest of us". I promise to not disclose any numbers in the future. It will be everyone for themselves.

Second, if you had actually read my posts I explained why I chose to pay what I did. My local, small-town dealership went out of business because they could not sell enough units in a tight market and was saved by a new owner. That owner explained to me why he chose to charge an ADM of $X,XXX instead of the $XX,XXX being charged by some other dealers. The ADM I am paying is going to help conserve his mechanic's and salesperson's jobs until he can build inventory. My state and town is presently nowhere as flush as some other states. We hope with Ford bringing several new plants here our future will be brighter and I support Ford.

ADM has evolved since the 1950's as a tool to adjust supply and demand to local conditions. It is only a tool and can be use badly by some merchants. It is up to each individual consumer to understand and accept or reject each ADM. I refuse to let anyone force me to join in a group boycott that would lead to a restraint of capitalism or true market supply and demand.

END.........................
Why do I get the feeling you’re a salesman at said small town dealership?

That local mechanic is not going to survive off your $3k ADM and for sure won’t survive off the sale of an EV.

The same could be said for those assholes who pay msrp! If nobody paid msrp manufacturers would have to lower the msrp and I wouldn’t pay as much!!!! Rabble rabble rabble!!!!!
I think the point is the MSRP should be a standard price that applies to everyone. The thing I hate most about the dealership model is that you can end up with a different price depending on the day of the month, the sales manager on duty and the barometric pressure. Plus you have to spend hours negotiating to get to that point.

Even if you manage to talk them down on the price, you still feel like you could have gotten a better deal if you had pushed a little harder or if you had gotten a quote from one more dealer at the next town over.

I hate a lot of things about Tesla, but their sales price at any moment in time is the same price across the USA. Tesla can still adjust for market demand (which they have done several times this year), but they don't have to waste 5 hours of negotiation on every sale.

You'd have a lot less need for salespeople in that model and those that remain would have more time to learn about the products they're selling rather than how to confuse people with the Four-Square technique.

While I agree and hate the salesman crap at dealerships I was considering a model Y instead but by the time I was ready to order Tesla had jacked up the price a shit ton. They were expecting the BBB to pass is my guess so started planning ahead with prices. $8,000 plus increases this year and I’ll bet you it goes up again in January. So I guess if you think the manufacturer playing with prices is better than a salesman go team.

I've never paid more than I was willing to pay, regardless of how much the seller is asking.
There are countless Ford dealerships across the land. If ever there was a right of choice who to buy from......

You do not have to do business with an ADM dealership. Of course if buyer isn't willing to wait, well that's on them.

The journey continues but the stars seem to be aligning for me.

At about 9:00 am on January 4th the Build & Price tool became active. Once completed you can save it but for now you cannot print it or save to pdf unless you are logged in. For now you cannot order or send to the dealer automatically. I saved it as a pdf and emailed to my dealer in preparation for the 6th, Order Day.

My B & P:
Lariat $67,474 Price for 510A Package
Add Iced Blue Silver
Add ER Battery (Included in 511A Package)
Add Package 511A +$10,000
Incl. Moonroof, Tow Package, 360 Active (Blue Cruise), 80 Amp Charge Pro.
Add Max Trailer Tow Package +$865
Add Destination Charges +$1,695

Total MSRP $80,034

I drove to the dealer and had him bring up my reservation page at Ford:

Page 29 Order Bank Opening Playbook (Rev. 1-03-2022)
"How To Confirm If A Customer Has Been Invited To Place An Order?"

My Reservation Report Shows:
Time Stamp Dealer Ranking = 1
Customer Dealer Ranking = 1
Wave Assignment = 1

We discussed the possible problem I might have concerning the tax credit under discussion in Congress whereas it may be limited to a maximum of $80,000. If no law is passed this year I am due the current $7,500 next year with a $80,034 MSRP but that would be over the limit with no credit if they pass a bill before 2023. Unknown what crack I would fall into with IRS if the law were passed after delivery of my truck.

My dealer said he would take up the issue with Ford (they need to revise MSRP down to $80,000 or below (-$35). If Ford sticks with this pricing I will be forced to delete Max Tow before the drop-deal Production Date. Surely, many will be in this spot.

I have an appointment at the dealer to submit the order on Thursday at 9:00 am when they open. The paperwork has already been prepared so I should be able to submit within the first few minutes even before my invite arrives. I had already replaced my $100 deposit that Ford sent back to me when they changed my dealer several weeks ago. I had then given my dealer a required $1,000 due when ordering.

And, NO! I am not a salesman for this or any dealership. I simply want a Ford EV Truck to replace my 2005 FEH which I wore out after 1/4 million miles. I have waited over 15 years to do this experiment.

Your build is exactly what I was looking at if I go with the Lariat. My concern is the tax credit, which may push me down to the XLT +.

‘Fortunately, I can qualify for entire $7,500 next year under old law but you can always order and delete max tow before production, or if enough of us yell at dealers and Ford, they will change price. If a new law happens I would expect by March. Am sure Ford is paying attention.

Yeah, I'm getting really pissed off. My internet sales manager has avoided me every time I ask about my place in line. It'd be different if I didn't know that dealerships are able to view a customer's place in line but I know they're able to. I sent one more email today but between that and the unexpected ER premium I think I may bow out completely.

I was willing to pay about $65k, even skipping options that I really wanted. Being in a colder winter climate I'd feel better having the extended range, however not for $75k minimum.

assuming BBB ever passes would the destination count as part of MSRP? For example my taxes in IA are based on model MSRP and dont include options and destination so is it possible the feds would follow this?

Had to hound mine and even hang out on lot. Took copy of Playbook to him and showed him how to look up my info.

God love my poor salesperson... it's clear I'm better informed than her half the time ;) Our conversation went like this:

Me - So am I in Wave 1?
Her - I don't know, but we will be calling you on Thursday to get your order placed
Me - But only if I'm in Wave 1, right?
Her - Yes

I am... confused ;)
