Seems like based on all the folks stuck on 1.7.1 that went the USB route... it was weeks, and "generally" around the month mark before the APIM sorted itself out and saw the USB.

Anecdotal of course...

And my obsession is finally paying off. I got the APIM to kick off. Yes I know its 3:15 in the morning. So I connected FDRS and it told me I had an update for GWM A. This update seemed very quick and it did not seem to download or write any EEPROM blocks, just Configured the module. I then went ahead and did the APIM update. ONe thing I will note when I formated the USB stick, I set the allocation block to default. It usually sits on 128. I am not sure if this makes a difference or not. Otherwise I followed all other directions and I am 19/38 right now.

Also cannot get that GSM update to go away. It runs, but still there.

Anyone that has the Blue Cruise prep should check For IPMA, CMR, CCM, PSCM updates in FDRS. 2.5.1 was released and that is what the update touched. These could be available in FDRS. Be good to know if anyone sees them

I'll check later and this brings up a question, since the GSM update is persistent do you think that this may be holding things up for the BC? I haven't done a PMI yet so...

I dont have any of the updates yet including the PSCM or CCM, so they may have decided to limit the release of these updates to those on the OTA early access program.



Edit.. Sorry GSM not gateway My mistake.. No it wont affect this at all everyone has that issue.

FWIW, I had formatted two USB's using this method, but it hasnt affected the willingness of the truck to read the USB. Doesn't appear to affect the outcome at all.

I never get otas. So how exactly do we know if we got 2.51?

As a practical matter, there’s no “exactly.” In general, the earliest OTA recipients get their updates a few days before they hit FDRS. So, if you manually update a week or two after people start talking about new Power-Up releases, you probably picked up the relevant updates.

If you want “exactly,” you have to ask, nicely, someone like @Jesse-Infotainment, who has an unusual level of access, to examine the underlying data files of new OTAs and provide their descriptions to you so that you can compare them file-by-file to what you’ve previously installed.

I won't bother him. I wait until other's efforts trickle down, if you know what I mean. I get the feeling he is neck deep most of the time and honestly, if he hadn't joined and shared I'm not sure I would have ever realized that I had these options.

Having said all that, I wish there was a resource of some kind that mapped the language Ford uses for OTA with the data we can so easily fetch with FDRS and/or Forscan.

Without it I just accept that FDRS is giving me access to what it gives me.

The OTAs are hard to say what level. OTA coincides with a update that you have done manually.

The updates for ota have been targeted up until 2.3.0 and it did the APIM and TCU

1.4.0 was TCU - Securalert
1.6 was gateway
1.7.1 was APIM 21146
2.0 was gateway
2.1.1 was gateway
2.3.0 was APIM/TCU they had to be done at the same time
2.4.1 was Gateway a fix for the Zone light Drain
2.4.3 was Step One IPC update
2.4.4 was step two IPC update
2.4.5 was an APIM update to 20282
2.5.1 was 4 Modules IPMA, CCM, CMR, PSCM


So to ask what version OTA you are at is not relevant when you have been manually updating.

Every update up until 2.5.1 has been released on FDRS. The other thing is if you have updated modules they have no association with an ota and otherwise would have not been updated.
