I have a very low garage door opening - 77.5". The prelim specs list the Lightning height at 78.9".....and I can find no production specs anywhere. Does anyone know for certain if that 78.9" is for the Platinum (22" wheels)? Is it safe to assume that the Pro (which is what I plan to get) that comes with 18" wheels will be 2" lower?

One other possible height adder is the rooftop antennas. The Pro does not have satellite radio so an antenna is not needed for that. Will the Pro have those antennas on the roof (GPS maybe?)? I can't tell exactly, but the antennas seem to add about 1/2" to the height.

I would check the tire size that the Pro comes with to ensure they are 2" smaller diameter than the Platinum. Wheel size sometimes correlates to smaller tires, but it technically it has nothing to do with the overall diameter.

The clearance for my garage at work is 79.0 inches. Not much of a fudge factor.

That's not how wheels and tires work. The wheel is just the rim. A smaller rim will have more rubber and visa versa. The height should be the same. Its not going in.

18s are 32, 20s are 33, 22s are 32.8. Good luck. I hope it fits, but I would not count on it. The best dropping to 18s does is save 0.5 inches height. If you let most of the air out of the tires you could fit.

Perfect application for remote tire inflation/deflation!

My garage isn't really a garage, it's an old barn. The side facing the driveway has a low entry, I seriously doubt the Lightning is ever getting in there.

hahaha...I think those low profile tires would do the trick by themselves. Great suggestion!

Oooh, I just measured my barn entrance, it's actually 78-3/4"...so tell me more about this hydraulic suspension! ?

The "2022 F-150 Lightning eSourceBook.pdf" (which somebody posted here a few months ago in another thread) shows the height as 78.3" (Code N in the diagram below). The footer for the document lists the date as Jan 26, along with the URL which is for dealers only so won't work for us customers: "https://www.esourcebook.dealerconne...e/F-150-Lightning/2022.printable.vehicle.html

Assuming it's correct, it is still too high for your garage, but it's 0.6" lower than the figure you posted. Not sure which is right, anybody have a source for the 78.9" figure?

Thanks for the info! It is indeed slightly different (on several dimensions) from what I got from https://fordauthority.com/2021/06/here-are-all-the-2022-ford-f-150-lightning-specs/
Your source sounds quite authoritative (and much more recent), but I figured with the name of my source, they must be an authority! ;)

Just add 1000lbs to the truck and it should be low enough to get through ?

If the tires are an inch smaller that would be 6 inches lower.
