Thanks for the suggestion. That is the number I called and I have a ticket they say that they will follow up on. The rep I spoke with was quite good, but had almost no knowledge on the lightning. She read through a few bits of info on the registration process, but didn’t have any ability to provide any next steps. So far no response yet, my call/complaint was initiated on Wednesday. I also think that although it says it is a Ford Canada support number, that I was actually speaking with someone out of the US.
Apparently they are going to push this back to the dealer to try to resolve, which is not what I want. It was the dealer that cancelled my reservation and took it over without my permission. I don’t see a way that I could trust that dealer moving forward when they did not listen to my expressed wishes to wait for a 23 and then took my reservation and placed their own order using my spot in line and eliminated me (for now) from reserving and ordering a lightning.
My current F150 was purchased from another dealer that I overall had a good experience with, but geographically is about 30 minutes away. I figured that for the lightning I would get it and service it at the dealer that is 5 minutes away from me and recently had relocated to a fancy new location. Mistake on my part to blindly choose them without having dealt with them in the past. Their previous location was quite run down.

Looking at my Purchase Agreement, comparing my Lariat to Island's Lariat they are adding $40,000.00 + or - $5k!! ? I wonder if Ford cares about that?

Ford doesn't care. They have already said more or less that they can't control what dealers do. Customers should just use discretion and not buy from these scumlords...

Crazy thing is Island Ford isn’t really known for making stuff up. Definitely knew dealers would try this though for sure. I almost bought a Mach E GT Performance Edition back in December but the dealer that had it wanted a $5k ADM on it so I walked. I didn’t pay ADM on my 2021 GT500 carbon fibre track pack so definitely not paying it on a Mach E.

They are terrible for marking shit up. The bronco has over $20k markup on it as well. Almost every ad for a high popularity/low supply vehicle they have massive markup on it.

Yeah I noticed that going through their site after I posted that. Guess they’re getting greedy now.

Greed that appears to be supported by Ford Canada itself.
Two weeks ago I reached out to Ford Canada about Downtown Ford Toronto cancelling (without my permission) my reservation and then they ordered a Lariat Lightning using my reservation. Today, I reached back out to Ford Canada because I had not heard anything back from them.
I was told that reservations can only be modified with the dealer and that I needed to work it out with the dealer. I explained again to Ford Canada that I did not cancel my reservation, it was the dealer that did this without my permission and then placed what appears to be an order for an ER Lariat in Iced Blue Silver with my reservation. Ford Canada informed me that reservations are with the dealer and they cannot restore my reservation or switch it to another dealer, that I needed to work it out with the dealer.
I find that laughable, how do they expect me to trust that dealer, to complete a sale with them (if they could “restore” my reservation) and trust them in a service relationship while I own the truck? They can’t restore a reservation that is now an order, just not for me.
Ford appears to have done a great job in designing, fast tracking and starting to manufacture an incredible truck, too bad that the sales team at Ford Canada has fumbled badly with the implementation of bringing it into the market.
Ford Canada appears to be letting their dealers get away with whatever bad behaviour they want whether it be scooping up reservations like mine or advertising incredible markups on trucks like island ford.

I would reach out to Marketplace at CBC News or something similar. They are always looking for interesting stories of scams/abuse/mistreatment of consumers by shady business owners. Tag them along with Ford Canada, the dealer and all your local news/politicians etc on social media. I recently saw the investigative story on TV about Moving Company scams. I believe this week is Unethical Real Esate Agents. Dealership may change their tune if a news camera shows up at their door!

haha, was just about to post IslandFord's two Lightnings, looks like you guys beat me to it!

I was pretty flabbergasted when I saw those prices - just unbelievable. I had been skimming Island Ford for some time as a larger alt to my local dealers (for on-lot F150's or for ordering) but this type of behaviour is just ridiculous. When I chatted with my local dealer (Suburban Ford in Victoria) about my Lightning reservation, he had stated that all Canada dealers were doing a ADM of $13k (if memory serves me), so I politely declined. Like, buddy, you're not THAT special. These aren't Mclaren's or Ferrari's.... (they might be more reliable, tho, haha)

And Ford Canada... already disappointing that their website has removed the 'build' feature for F150's, so I can't even check what an MSRP would be for various features! Ford US can still do so, so I can always build a spec and convert but it'll be off, obviously. As if the high-prices/lack of availability isn't disappointing enough...

I haven't heard from my dealer yet in BC lower mainland but I'm not paying a penny in ADM. Ford needs to realize they will lose customers like myself to Tesla if they let the dealers continue this garbage.

When I just went to Ford.ca to price out a Lariat with what I guessed it had, including 511A (the sticker was unavailable), I came to C$101k. But the website still didn't allow me to select every option (like moonroof). So yeah, probably about $40k markup when everything is included...

Go Island Ford & Ford.ca.....
