That would be a HDPP and they are only available in XLT and very hard to get. I have a 2008 extended cab with a 8' box (it sucks to park the thing) that has about 2400lb payload and we have actually overloaded it a bit from time to time but only going a short distance. There are some amazing F150's, but you gotta order and wait.
Drop a 1200lb pin on it and still have more Payload left than most F150's start with.
Respectfully disagree. We need a truck that can tow our gooseneck horse trailer. We don't go coast to coast with the trailer but we do go to local trail heads (less than 50miles round trip) and an occasional 150 mile trip to a horse campground. The Lightning will be more than capable to handle our needsIf you need to tow a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer, the lightning probably isn't the right tool for you at this time.
Note that I said "at this time". There is no know timeline for when or if a gooseneck hitch will be available. If you take delivery of a lighting before this has been produced, the truck will not fulfill your stated need. One may never be produced for this generation truck. We need a truck that can tow our gooseneck horse trailer.
At this time I would not plan on doing 150 mile trips with horses in an electric truck since you'll be lucky to even get a 150 mile range if you went from 100%-0% while towing which also isn't realistic.Respectfully disagree. The route we use has 2 DCFC on it, so getting to the destination 150 miles away is not a problem. Then there would be plenty of time at the campground to recharge and then 2 DCFC on the way home. Perfectly doable for us on this particular route. Certainly not doable everywhere and without proper planningAt this time I would not plan on doing 150 mile trips with horses in an electric truck since you'll be lucky to even get a 150 mile range if you went from 100%-0% while towing which also isn't realistic.
Fair statement. Plus, do to a late reservation I am at least a 23MY and possibly later. Ford has already stated that the Lightning will be reworked and have an all new platform for 25MY. So I may be putting the cart before the horse here anyway.Note that I said "at this time". There is no know timeline for when or if a gooseneck hitch will be available. There are universal hitch kits available. In fact, all fifth wheel/gooseneck hitches used to be universal. It wasn’t until the past 20 years or so that custom “no drill” kits started to appear.Note that I said "at this time". There is no know timeline for when or if a gooseneck hitch will be available. Those extra 2 horsepower might come in handy. At this time I would not plan on doing 150 mile trips with horses in an electric truck
