2022 Lightning (Ordered 6/19, delivered 10/28/22)
RIP “starting at under $40K”
Maybe, hopefully, they’ll stick to current pricing for current reservation holders.
Ford saw the Rivian backlash. I'm hoping they decide to do the right thing and grandfather all reservation holders into the old prices.

A little bit different.

No one who has a "reservation" right now has selected or configured anything and submitted it to Ford.

With Rivian, you selected your configuration (with pricing) and submitted it to Rivian. It also opened Rivian up to some legal action considering their public IPO made no mention of having to raise their prices (despite internal documentation saying they were likely going to have to). It was 100% reasonable for Rivian to raise prices, they should have done it sooner and made note of it in the IPO.

People w/ reservations for F150L are just like any other increase between MYs. MY23 is a different car than MY22, prices always change.

Didn't they grandfather some Bronco reservation holders? We're in a big grey area here. Whereas legally I could see them being able to raise prices, I also see it as a PR issue.

Mach-e Price increases, which are likely more applicable here, given battery is the reason for bigger increases:

I don't know any details on why Ford did that for the Bronco.. but Ford has already stated to expect price increases (in a round about way):

FAQ:

https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...reservation-closure-and-order-information/#28

If I purchase a later model year F-150, will my price be protected?
Ford will honor the price on the day an order is placed.
Note: A F-150 Lightning reservation holds a place in line to order but does not constitute an order. Future model year pricing will be provided when available.

Ford can pretty much sell an F150L at any price in the next ~2 years, it has no reason to be "nice". :)

No.

There was price protection for anyone who had an order for a 21 Bronco but had to reorder a 22 because it wasn't built in 21.

If you had a Bronco reservation but didn't place an order there was no protection.

The difference is anyone with a reservation could convert to an order at any time. It wasn't invitation only like the Lightning.

Don't think so. Ford is only price-protecting existing orders.

Where did you see anything on the Mach-e. I don
't see it in that thread and Google is failing me (if true)
I originally posted a different link, but the @Administrator changed it to truck only list. FWIW, today is the last day to order 2022 MME.

I suspect that they will only honor prices for those that deferred their order invites. I think people with reservations (without order invites) will be out of luck. They may still be a decent value after price increases, depending on how the Silverado and Cybertruck pricing works out.

Making assumptions that ICE F150 increases would carry over to the Lightning (Copied from Previous Thread):

Increase 145 in. Wheelbase-Platinum, Lariat 4x4 SCrew SS 5.5 Box prices $1050 MSRP

Increase 501A Package (511A for Lightning?)Prices $280 MSRP

Increase Max Trailer Tow Package price $220 MSRP

Increase Destination & Delivery prices $100 MSRP

*Unknown Battery Increase

EFFECTIVE DATE
Dealer Invoice changes will be effective April 13,, 2022.

Cybertruck doesn't have to worry about the expense of door handles or steering wheels.

I think MME is a better template. It will have $2,000 price increase on the extended battery alone. And MME has smaller battery.
