Looking at the build and price tool - Does it look like the “grille” on the Lariat now matches the platinum grille?

I suppose that could be true, hard to say with the Ford marketing department, my SR XLT is supposed to arrive by August 18th- glad to get that at MSRP of $52KMaybe it's on purpose so people are more likely to buy the SR and use up fewer of Ford's limited battery supply.
I wouldn't hold your breath on OTA for this anytime soon based on my experience with our Mustang Mach E and OTA updates. It's painful the rollout of OTA for Mach E owners. I'm sure Lightning is getting lots of love but it's the same back-end systems rolling out the OTA and I wouldn't get your hopes up if you have a first-year model. 2021 Mach E owners are still waiting for power ups and Blue Cruse to roll out years into ownership.I wonder if the EPA increase will come to MY22s via a software update. I'm assuming it's the same battery pack and it's more about software tweaks.
Gray must be more aerodynamicThe range increase is interesting, I wonder how they managed that.
>> F-150 Lightning customers can choose two new colors among the 10 available options – Avalanche Gray and Azure Gray metallic tri-coat. Those colors replace Atlas Blue, Ice Blue Silver and Smoked Quartz Metallic, which are not available on models built starting this fall.
Wonderful! They've taken 3 of the more interesting colors away, in exchange for MORE greys!
$7k before options, keep with the program. That's only $700/mile of range extra! What a deal!Yeah it sounds like they’re trying to soften the blow of the $8k bump on a pro….
The deleted colors could have been paint supply issues.Because I'm not in a ZEV state and I also don't really trust Ford that much, I'm not holding my breath that my very very early reservation will lead to being able to order this week.
That will be disappointing, of course, but honestly, as someone who wants to tow a couple times a year, I really do want the extended range battery. But to lose the color I wanted and to have my build price go up to $89,709 is making me wonder if maybe I'm just not cut out to be an early adopter here.
I get that electric cars are expensive and all that. I get that inflation is making everything more expensive. But $89,709? For a truck that can only tow a camper 150 miles before charging?
Sure, it's an insanely awesome truck, but when you get close to that $90k mark, the competition gets pretty broad. As the used truck market is cooling, there are going to be some incredible lightly used F350s available in the same time frame for that price. And although I understand that is a totally different animal, I'm just trying to illustrate that this price point really has so many different options.
I wonder why they got rid of Ice Blue (or whatever its called). Maybe it just didn't look as good as they thought? Quality problems?
The product is exciting enough. No need for exciting or even vaguely interesting paint. That must be their logic. The deleted colors could have been paint supply issues.
But my running theory is that the paint selection department at Ford is just run by someone very boring who is scared of anything exciting.
From what I've seen, every manufacture launches with a relatively conservative BMS/charging curve on their EVs (other than the compliance cars from 5+ years ago) and then updates them next model year with a marginal difference.I wonder if the EPA increase will come to MY22s via a software update. I'm assuming it's the same battery pack and it's more about software tweaks.
Not yet, they haven't opened that up. If they have a low conversion rate, maybe late in 2023?So is there anyway to actually get on the reservation list again yet? I tried on their website and couldn't find a way.![]()
