My dealership noticed it during their inspection prior to me taking delivery. So they ordered a new one and it will get installed once it comes in, whenever that is.

Both sides of mine are delaminating in spots as well... I'll just keep an eye on it for now until it gets worse or others say there is a fix for it.

These are unique to the Lightning. With the ICE standard running boards you can see underneath the truck, these cover up that portion between the sidestep and body, so yes they are first Gen as far as I know.
I am still pissed that the deployable ones didn’t come standard.

Me too. Along with fold flat seats and massagers. Buying an XLT for Platinum price but I’m not complaining, much, anywhere, outloud.

I too have this problem.

The horror!

(For real though I’m sure warranty will cover it, but I’d imagine any being replaced right now will have the same problem, going to wait for a little bit. Mine isn’t so bad.)

maybe time to try that aftermarket power option. You lose the lights but they won't look like peeling plastic. Aren't these standard fixed F-150 running boards that they have been using for years? Is this problem on ICE vehicles or are these unique to the lightning?
You don't lose the lights. You gain different lights.

Thanks to this thread, I checked my running boards. Passenger side is de-laminating in exactly the same place as everyone else's, right around the B pillar.

It doesn't seem too troublesome quite yet, so I might wait until there is some feedback from @Ford Motor Company . I'd hate to get replacements and have it just happen again.
