Is that the mini mud flap looking piece?
Could be part of the uniqueness. I was referring to the vertical upturn along the length of the board which I tried to zoom in on here. That element isn’t on the standard F150 boards

I don’t think I even noticed that when I installed it. I could’ve sworn they were flat on top..

This is going to bug me all week until I get back now

" Probably at the body shop dealing with constructively placed damage during transit."

Are you talking to me! Darn It!

Went to dealer to pick up my Lightning and the GM said he had not called me because there was a 'little' problem. My truck is damaged! (In my mind I was thinking maybe it fell off a lift like that Mustang).

But, NO. Somehow it was damaged when Jack Cooper unloaded yesterday. Went to look at it and it has some broken plastic on the back of the passenger mirror and also a few scratches on the mirror. Obviously the driver did it when he backed it off.

Problem is, the driver unloaded, talked to no one and then took off. I think it was him and I do not consider it 'delivered' until my dealer signed off on his receipt, which no one did. This should be a no-brainer as to liability.

But the dealer says he cannot give me the truck until Ford determines who will pay for repair. They have already ordered another mirror (delivery date unknown). I said I would drive it until a new mirror comes in but dealer wants to be sure who pays for it first.

The GM promises to call me back today. I said I would pay for the mirror if they would cover the labor (only until Ford makes Jack Cooper driver fess up).

Cue the Violins at this point. Maybe I should start a New Thread "Listen Ford". where I could get our @Ford Member to help me?
Update Wed. 24th:

Got to test drive today :p :p🤪

From Dealer GM:
Apparently my Lightning was damaged while being loaded @Ford. A new Mirror Assembly was ordered on Tuesday ($1,500 + Installation). Hope they expedite Delivery from Factory!

Decision now at Ford Corp. Level: 1. Get fixed ASAP and Ford pays or 2. Find another like Lightning somewhere and get it here (talk some other dealer out of their mannequin). Good Luck on that! and/or 3. Dealer will try to sweet talk my CU on extending my 30 day 2.89% Lock another 30 days just in case (CU rate is now over 4%).

4) Let you take delivery and lock in the rate. Fix it when the parts arrive. Compensate you for the inconvenience with $500 in FordPass credits.

PS. Does anyone have an uninstallation replacement manual for side mirrors? I didn’t realize they were so valuable expensive.

This is the option I would choose. Good luck getting the Ford Pass points though.
Installation is easy of the mirror assy itself. Painting the mirror caps and performing 360 camera alignment is the time consuming part.
We like to use the word replacing instead of removing so as to not confuse us with thieves.

Unfortunately, #4 is a No Go. @Ford will not pay or assume liability and will deny warranty if dealer sells a damaged product. Dealer also will not sell a damaged product unless I sign a waiver and pay for the part myself (but he will be nice enough to give me a discount on installation and I can get 15,000 points if I use my Ford Visa 😭 )

But he also said I can use my Ford Visa Card for up to $5,000 of my down payment when I can finally buy the truck (I will get 10 points/$ and also qualify for the Visa $200 Statement Credit) :p

And if I pay for it after 9/05 I do not have to pay the card until November.

With every storm there is always a little Thunder and Lightning here in KY.

Well that doesn’t scream lawyering at all.

My credit union will process a loan and issue me a check. They don’t care when I actually hand the check over (I mean they care but no big deal if it sits for a week or two).

That's crazy. We do deliveries with paint scratches and minor damage from time to time. Once the transit damage claim is filed they could deliver the vehicle. Warranty would never be an issue.

Agreed. This is crazy. It must be my dealer's rule. But, to defend him a bit, a few months ago he sold an Explorer with damage and Ford would not cover it post sale and he claims he got stuck with the bill - so he feels snake-bit.

Also, I have been trying for months to get him to give me a Purchase Order which my CU requires to cut a check. The dealer refuses to give me the P.O. until he has the vehicle on site ready to sell - so without the P.O. I can't finalize the financing.

Funny o_O This morning I went on Auto Trader to find a replacement Lariat ER withing 100 miles. Range was $105,000 - $140,000. But I did find one (no price) with the same color and got excited until I noticed the VIN#1FT6W1EV6NWG07933 🤪 My VIN# is also 1FT6W1EV6NWG07933! Must be my Doppelganger? Nope - It IS MY TRUCK preadvertized at my dealer!

But at least yesterday I did get at least a little high with the test drive. I was really impressed with the One-Pedal. I drove around town for about 10 miles and never touched the brake pedal. My Septuagenarian 4 ft. 10 inch wife loved that she could get in the truck with no problems. In our last truck (2018 Chev. 2500HD) she almost needed a step ladder. She also crowed about the comfort of her seat with the cool seat ventilation turned up max. For the last 18 months she had gotten lukewarm about my Lightning but now she has gotten excited once again.

So LIFE is not totally CRAP for me today.

Did you see the damaged mirror? Or just what the dealer told you?

YUP

I should have snapped a photo. Broken black plastic piece right behind the mirror and 1" X 1" paint scrape. Otherwise mirror is fine - camera is fine and retracts fine.

Apparently loader forgot to retract the mirror prior to loading @Ford.
