Does anyone know how to put a permanent camera button/icon on the main screen? Also is there a way to set up ac controls to have dedicated buttons? I'm assuming that's a no but doesn't hurt to throw it out there. Doing something as common/simple as adjusting ac fan speed requires a tap of the fan icon and then you have to raise your hand up 10 inches to choose the higher setting on a bar that is almost invisible. Even things like seat cooling require a tap then raise hand and tap a blue line with three dots...then of course to confuse you Ford has them arranged that the highest seat fan speed is on the bottom of the bar. But right next to it the AC fan speed has the highest fan setting at the top. This is the most unintuitive UI I've ever used. Very frustrating and dangerous to use. Unfortunately muscle memory doesn't apply to huge screens like it does physical buttons and it will always require one to take focus off the road and look at what they are doing.

Another thing hopefully a UI update can change is changing driver modes. Or at least keeping the driver mode on the last setting. I like using sport mode but every single time I start the truck I need to peck at the screen... Wait for it to load that page (a few second) and then peck at the sport button.

All of these annoyances add up and really take the joy out of driving an otherwise great truck.

Not possible, but I wish I could take the useless Alexa icon and make it a 360 camera button.

I've only had my Lightning for about a week now, but I've come to the conclusion that the 12" screen and physical button dash is better than the 15" screen.

Agreed. Nothing you need to do in a vehicle requires a 15” screen.

It's too bad Ford won't let Lariat and Platinum buyers downgrade to the 12" screen, or make the 15" optional.

If I could have optioned my Lariat ER any way I could, I would have chose the 12" dash, 18" wheels and tires, no moonroof and the B&O Unleashed system.

except watching movies while charging would be nice…. But it is the wrong orientation for that. Honestly, if I could have gotten Blue Cruise on an XLT, I would have, instead of the Lariat. I have a ‘21 XLT Hybrid F150, and far nicer to adjust AC w dials and toggle, and change modes w dial with a quick spin that I don’t even think about anymore. Darn Elon Musk and Teslafying!

I find myself having to think about where certain controls are located. Which menu/option list is the option that I am looking for? Oops, not that one... Please more physical buttons. I also would prefer the 12 inch display, but wanted blue cruise, heated/cooled seats, heated wheel, leather, 18s...

The problem is that even if there were a permanent software button it will never be as fast as the 12" screen and its physical camera button. That button will turn on the camera immediately even when Sync is still booting up.

Very necessary for a vehicle as big as the f-150 and navigating out of tight spots when starting up. With the 15" screen we have to sit and wait a couple minutes until Sync catches up. It's infuriating quite often.

My vote is to turn the useless |P| button into the 360 cameras. Should be possible, but Ford will have to it.

The best alternative is to briefly shift to reverse enabling the backup camera with the 360 view at the top of the screen. Be sure the rear camera delay is on, and the camera view will be persistent as long as you stay below 5 MPH or shift to P.

We too came out of a 21 Hybrid Platinum and absolutely agree with the above. 12" and buttons for us completely. The setup is nice to look at, but in inconvenient compared to our Platinum. Ford your getting valuable feedback on this forum, real customers with real world observations. Over to you @fordmotorcompany

I've been driving an ICE Lariat for about a week now (more on where my truck is in a few days) but I have to agree that the physical button for the cameras is a very nice thing and very fast/responsive on that 12" screen.

Ford has to do something about the GUI on the 15" screen. There is so much real estate on the screen there is no reason there isn't a row of icons that address some of the more often needed functions. Even make it customizable. Let me select the 5 to 8 items I want access to across the top of my screen.

I think the 12" screen, when using the cameras, has better resolution too.

Coming from a 2011 Lariat with no screen it took me awhile, but I’ve had my truck for 3 months and have gotten used to the screen controls, but really why isn’t fan speed a voice command.

That 15" screen would be more useful if it could rotate.

Hidden dials for climate visible when rotated would be the real way to go.
