I thought about my unscheduled XLT

WHAT?? On a vehicle that's not even a year old? Oh heck no - they'd have to fix that for me.<snip>
Center speaker grill is warped

HA! That's what you think!<snip> Now I won't have the truck distracting me from my work for a few hours
TouchΓ©. Here I am...HA! That's what you think!
That is expensive power. More than double Texas rates. But I guess we do have a ton of solar and wind down here keeping prices low.I charged up my Lightning today after Sunday's road trip, I had to wait until today, unfortunately weekends and federal holidays are considered peak demand here so I had to wait until today to earn credits.
Before I plugged in this morning my garage meter read 190KWH
The lighting had a SOC of 31%, charging began at 6:08 am
Charging ended at a SOC of 95%, which was the level at the start of Sundays trip.
The Ford Pass logs indicated that 83 kWh were loaded to the battery
The electric meter showed it took 94 kWh to the FCSP and the trucks charger.
Interestingly the FCSP was very accurate measuring actual energy to the truck
That shows 11 kWh of conversion losses or around 11.3%
Costs 94 x 0.253 = 23.78
National Grid TOU credits accounted for only 62 kWh at 0.03 for $1.86
Net energy cost $23.78 - $1.86 = $21.92
Miles traveled 177, yielding 12.4 cents a mile
Or a 15MPG value comparison to my former truck $1.86 a gallon break even value
Today diesel is priced at 4.899 / gal, at that rate in my old truck the trip would have cost $57.81
Savings of $35.89
We will be repeating this trip on Thanksgiving, with cooler weather I'm curious how much more energy we will consume!!
Initial thoughts on roll up cover? Does the tailgate close properly when the cover is fully closed? I like the no-seam look vs the tri-fold.Picked up and installed my box link cleats, bed mat, cargo net and rollup cover.
I'll have to run a test of that, though I need to install a 14-50 outlet on the new load center.I wonder if the 240 30 amp loses less or no difference?
Yes, when I first mounted it, I had it too far forward and had 1/8-1/4" gap, so I loosened the four bolts at the head of the rails, slide it back, left loose, close the tailgate and let it push the cover forward enough for just-touch clearance, then retightened the fasteners. It seems good enough, though maybe I may bring it back hair more to get a better seal at the gate.Initial thoughts on roll up cover? Does the tailgate close properly when the cover is fully closed?
