For those that haven't seen it, this is the updated range/fuel economy on the MY23 SR Window Sticker (this was off a Pro, but should be the new range on all SR variants):

Ford F-150 Lightning New Window Sticker EPA Fuel Economy - SR MY23 1666857423351

Since the only thing Ford changed to get these numbers was adding heated seats as Standard to the Pro, technically all MY22 SR variants except the Pro are also now rated to 240mi range.

Edit: Also MY22 base XLT didnt have heated seats, forgot about that

I don't think the XLT 311A SR had heated seats either it was part of the 312A upgrade.

I normally wake up to a fully charged PRO with 250+ miles on the guessometer... so, the reality is that heated seats have NOTHING to do with actual real-world range, only that they can 'minimize' the need for the electric heat for the cabin to be used 'as much' in very cold weather when heated seats, which are 12v-based dc power, use less power for the same/similar 'comfort' to the driver/passenger. And, honestly, this is basically for those in northern states only.
The battery pack is no different. The driving is no different. The 'idea' is the only difference.

If you don't use electric cabin heat OR heated seats, you'll get even BETTER mileage : )

It's all relative.

Same trucks different math. Note that 2022 XLT base also did not have heated seats.

What I find funny is 9 out of 10 for emissions. What does it take to get a 10?

What is even crazier is that my ER Lariat has a 10 there.

Relax, no one is saying your truck is inferior. I even very clearly stated (and emphasized) the only difference was the heated seats.

Just showing what the new sticker says.

My MY23 Lariat ER is showing a 9 out of 10. Strange considering the message below states "This vehicle emits 0 grams CO2 per mile. The best emits 0 grams per mile."
They need to update this format completely for EVs but I assume it got downrated to 9 because it's a very inefficient EV. As more EVs come on the market they need to distinguish between efficient EVs and inefficient EVs.

It never made sense that the SR was 230. Ratiometrically, if the ER is 320 the SR should've been 240 based on usable battery capacity. That doesn't even take into account the reduced weight of the SR trucks. It should probably be over 240 if they use the same assumptions to calculate the range.

The ER being 320mi was because every ER model had heated seats. They had to calculate the SR range based on the lowest package, which for MY22 included the Pro and base XLT.

(I believe to get the ER on the XLT you had to add the package with heated seats)

Why would the seat heater affect the EPA range?

EV's use battery for climate control. Heated seats are significantly more efficient as a heat source than the heater. More efficient climate control means less battery consumption. Average climate control battery usage factors into EPA ranges.

Does the EPA range test require HVAC use, though? I would assume the test is done without HVAC usage but i've never looked into it.
