Take the high road. Be constructive. It’s not a Comedy Central roast, Lisa Lamponelli.

Agreed. This would not pass inspection.
Please be specific, is it the part I did that won’t pass, or the outlet that the electrician added? And, why not?

The issue will be the “box” you build is not NEMA and is physically too close to the electrical enclosure. You might get an inspector who would overlook that since the charger is connected to a receptacle.

I don’t see a problem. Working clearances are for panels and disconnect switches, not utilization equipment. As long as the physical installation of utilization equipment doesn’t contradict manufacturer’s instructions, it’s fine.

A permit has been pulled. The electrician is happy with the cabinet I built. Inspection is tentatively Monday.

Great! Let us know what they say. I personally think it’s great.

Where I live, a permit and inspection is only required for service changes / installations. Probably the case for most non-metropolitan areas.

The electrician gave me a choice of inspection/ no inspection. I chose to get it inspected.

Interestingly… I was just looking at the spec sheet for the mobile charger, it says ventilation not required.
