I've been wanting to make a Q & A thread where questions could be posted and answered on different topics, instead of searching and sifting thru tons of threads, only to often come up short with an answer. I'm also hoping that this thread will become interesting reading for anyone who reads through it. If anyone has miscellaneous questions about something, this thread might be a good thread to discuss and answer the question.

I've had a lot of questions pop up in my mind but I'll forget by the time I want to Google or search for it here. Maybe I need to start writing some of them down ha ha. Here is one that I can think of right now....

If I am parked somewhere and want to listen to the sound system for an extended period of time, I am supposed to turn the truck "ON" right? In that position, the 12 battery will be kept charged by the big High Voltage battery... and as long as the HVB has a charge, the 12 volt battery should be charged with the truck in the turned "ON" position? In other words, I should be able to listed to radio for hours without worrying about battery losing charge. Am I correct with this statement?

There are two modes - Accessory, and Started / Running. One involves your foot on the brake pedal, the other does not.

The ONLY mode that allows you to safely listen to the sound system for an extended period of time is Started / Running. If you use Accessory mode, it will drain the 12v battery until the vehicle puts up a warning message and shuts the sound system off.

That said, if you sit with the vehicle Started for an extended period of time and don't drive anywhere, you will get a warning that it is shutting down at 30 minutes. There is a timer in the settings you can turn off, which is good for one key cycle.

To my knowledge, only with the app. part of the subscription treadmill economy. I hate this time line.

With that said, on my sons BMW i3, it was the same way. However I recently discovered that it was possible with an app to reprogram *the car* to reassign the action taken for certain key fob buttons. One of those actions was to allow for remote start. So I wouldn't be surprised if someone figures that out for us too.

You may want to check with guys in Forscan thread. Pressing Frunk button on the key FOB twice is taken but pressing it once don’t seem to do anything (let me know if it does). That is perfect for remote start.

Measuring the voltage confirms what he said. It is around 12V in accessories mode and around 15V when on (in my Pro).

Yeah, there is a reason the forum has a search function...

It's to avoid things like the 20 threads on "my FordPass app isn't responding" or " my range seems low in January, why?".

That's one of the problems, I think. I will search for an answer to a question and will get a ton of posts from a dozen different threads and a lot of the time will never really get the answer. I figured in this thread, one could ask quick questions and also do away with, endless searching, creating (even more) threads... and maybe over time, create an interesting and informative thread to thumb through when bored. 🤔

Searching is easy. The forums search function works great and is much better than a thread full of repetitive questions and answers. The same questions will be asked over and over in a thread like this. I search whenever I need to look up something or remember an answer. It's prevented me from making other threads asking the same questions over and over again. If someone is too lazy to scroll through the search results...that's a different issue.

All this is doing is creating another thread to search through. If you have a question and you can't find an answer...just ask it. If you don't know how the search function works, ask.

Yeah, the search function definitely leaves something to be desired. It's frustrating to search for a topic and find articles from a year before the Lightning started shipping, and not really related. I'm sure this is a result of the relationship between this forum, and the one that it was split off from. But it would be really nice to be able to narrow the search to ONLY the Lightning forums.

With that said, this thread aims to be its own forum, except without any semblance of organization. Separate subjects deserve their own thread. But before creating a new thread, it's proper to search and see if the subject has already been addressed.

Impossible. Noting on the truck to receive the start command unless through the modem.

I've had issues with the search function, it's definitely not the be all end all. Plus, this forum doesn't have I San elecels of traffic I think it's fine to have threads like this. I was considering making a massive features consolidation thread for people to post requests so maybe Ford could peruse it.

That's what I've been saying in this thread but if you don't know what I'm saying here, then I digress.
