Does it have a tailgate? I think it looks ugly, but also practically I don't understand the bed. I have always preferred stepping on the tire and grabbing small stuff over the side. I feel like the Cybertruck will require you to physically get in the bed everytime you need something.

Yes, it has a tailgate, but you are right that those side wedges will hinder functionality.

Elon already said it wo
The cybertruck will absolutely have 500 mile range. If it doesn’t it’s a huge fail. If the lightning had 500 mile range would anyone be considering the cybertruck?
Elon already said it won’t. Not even close. Probably half that. Stainless steel? Mega wheels? There’s no fairy dust to offset the battery weight size trade off and thy aren’t going the Hummer route. Lots of aspiration in initial specs aren’t going to be met including tow rating, range. But it will be fugly for sure, and raggedy like a Delorean - no way to do flat stainless panels with a professional durable finish and flat look.

Serious question. Since Federal DOT laws state that you must at least have a driver's side mirror mounted, in conjunction with a rear view mirror that meets certain standards, what is the big selling point of having removable mirrors?

So they can legally sell them and the customer can choose to take the risk for range?

because that regulation will likely be removed, or amended, in the light of highly reliable camera technology.

Not so serious answer…..so you can Jack up the mirrors and slide a different truck under them.

And potential buyers think this will happen anytime soon? It took decades to update the headlight laws.

i presume it’s already in the works. I’ve been part of technical standards committees, yes, it takes forever to get something new passed. If it hasn’t already been proposed then it’s 5 years+.

How is it possible that every single photo of this thing makes it look worse?

This is why Ford is smart. Ease into the design. We all love the design and functionality of an F150. Start there, add electric then slowly evolve the design. Honestly, the need for an engine compartment is over. I imagine Ford will move to cab forward design over time. Makes sense practically and functionally. The Lightning of 2029 will be something to behold I bet.

I hope they don't reduce the frunk too much on the next lightning iteration. I think its the best feature of the truck!

Agreed. Watch people’s faces when you open the frunk is priceless

I've been guilty of gratuitous frunking if people are around but I really don't need to put the item in the frunk. :ROFLMAO:
