I'm not in the EAP but got the interface update and got every update in sequential order, though a little delayed from the initial waves at each stage, I kind of like being in the middle of the pack...... BTW 4.2.1 just came in today for my truck 23 days after it hit the streets.
Well you can start looking for 4.2.2 then cause that same APIM update that is 4.2.2 was in my software update list this afternoon literally before OTA 4.2.1 had finished installing. I have updated using FDRS and now have Sync 713 (like my Mach-E has).

You have a '23 model correct?

What is your Sync version now?

I thought all the '23 model trucks came with the new Sync UI just like the '23 model Mach-E's did.
I’m not the person you were responding to, but I have a ‘23 Lariat and it definitely did not come with the new UI. Nor have I received it yet. How would I check the Sync version? (I’d be happy to report back what version I have.)

I have only received two updates OTA: 4.1.1 mid feb and 4.2.1 a few days ago. Everything else I used FDRS to get including the UI update. I just got tired of driving in circles waiting for it to come.

The marketing department got ahead of engineering again. I’m stuck in the no update since 4.1.1 camp. Some people have said that a BMS reset after pulling the neutral so many times may be the cause.

This email aged like milk :)

Another member told me he has/had Sync 539 on his '23 model. He's in the process of updating his APIM now using FDRS. Not sure what version he's going to end up with for a couple of reasons. The first is that he says the size of the download is a couple of GB larger than the roughly 4GB I did to go from Sync 640 to 713 on my truck. The second is that for most of us who's last "old UI" version was Sync 539, the next jump was to Sync 640, and then to Sync 713. Sync 640 for the '22 Lightning was the introduction of the new interface. (Same for the Mach-E). So I don't know if jumping directly from Sync 539 to 713 is possible.

For most people with Mach-Es or '22 Lightnings, OTAs 4.1.1, 4.1.3, and 4.2.1 were all gateway (GWM) updates. And for many who got 4.1.1 as an example, the next thing they saw instead of the new Sync UI OTA 4.1.2 was OTA 4.2.1. You don't have to get OTA 4.1.3 because it seems it was superseded by the gateway that came out as OTA 4.2.1. I agree it can be very confusing to figure out.

As for checking your Sync version...Settings > General > About and it should say "Revision XXX"

Yes 2023 model year.

Yesterday I received 4.2.1.2; it's a little goofy that updates are not cumulative to say the least.
I'm betting that was a gateway (GWM) update that is the one that is just before your APIM update that should be next.

Thanks for the info. It looks like I am running Revision 546.
So for a '23 model that must be the 'intermediate' rev they started the model year off with. That would be comparable with Sync 539 on a '22 model. So it is a rev that's specific to '23 models but really no different to the Sync 539 that '22 models had at the time.

My ‘23 was built 10/25 and I have Sync 689 with the old UI. I did get 4.1.1, 4.1.2.1, and 4.2.1.

I have a '23. Stuck on 4.1.1 since 1/24. Did the 20-2350 TSB at the dealer before they pulled it. I just called Ford OTA support (833-389-0848) and they recommended I do a module reset and wait a couple of weeks . They also said they are seeing error codes but cannot read them or tell me what they are because they are not a "Licensed Technician". Licensed by who? Ford? The company you work for? The company whose name is on the truck?

This super secret "you don't need to know" approach to customer service stopped working in every other industry 20 years ago.

Well if it helps, it looks like you have a TCU update in your list that should come as an OTA while you're out driving around in a 3-bar AT&T coverage area. I would check and set the update schedule to a time when you're likely to be driving the truck (like on a commute).

..."a module reset"...?

I've heard of others with F-150s (both ICE and BEV) who aren't getting updates pulling the TCU fuse to clear out what may have been junk data in their TCU, so that it would refresh the connection the next time it contacted the mothership, but I don't know what module we're talking about being reset. Certainly not the APIM cause that won't do anything to kick OTAs into happening. You can send me your VIN and I'll see if FDRS has any updates listed as available for your truck if you'd like.

Oh, and if you call your service advisor they can pull up your VIN in PTS while you're on the phone and they see in real time the DTCs you have...and in their system those DTC error codes are hot-linked directly to SSMs/TSBs, etc. that offer possible explanations and remedies for those particular codes. All right there on their screen. They can read that stuff off to you over the phone. They can also pull up your "OTA Dashboard" and tell you the status of any OTAs you have in process or if they failed or whatever going back the last 60 days....while you're on the phone. Or you can drop by the service desk and ask them to show you and share their screen view with you so you can see for yourself while they explain what everything means.

The last time you ran my VIN I had a GWM, PSCM, OBCC, and an APIM update on the list. I assume the GWM came with 4.2.1 but does that mean I got an APIM update also or did they pull it?

Well they didn't pull any APIM updates as far as I'm aware. Check you Sync About page to see what your version is now.
