Which warranty did you choose and why? Power Tr/Base/extra/premium and miles. Trying to make the best decision. I do plan to keep the truck for a while. Just concerned about everything that 'could' go wrong.

Compared ESP on a few sites and this is the best price

Depends on how many miles you drive per year. I added lamp coverage for less than $100. Replacement headlights and taillights are $$$.

Hmmm....did not think about that lamp coverage.
As far as driving, I guess about the average, 12-14K per year. I am hybrid work right now, but plan to work even more remote in the future.

In retrospect, the last car I purchased brand new I had for 11 years and it had 220K miles when I traded in. During that time I was working about 30-40 miles from work and also driving a few hours to military drill every month. A lot less driving now.

I went Max on the Premium care for three reasons. One, I've never owned an EV before and didn't want to be surprised in the event something went belly up after the original warranty expired. Two, because I've barely had the truck for 6 months and I have north of 15k miles on it already. Three, any time you purchase the first model year of a vehicle, it makes sense to protect yourself, because we all know manufacturers defects and other little gremlins can pop up. I plan to keep it for as long as I possibly can. Hopefully it will be a while before I know whether I screwed the pooch on this warranty or not. Good luck with your new whip!

I’m thinking Extra Care level with light protection.

I don't put the same amount of miles on that you do, but agree on all the other points.
These are expensive vehicles. And with it being new and loaded with so much new tech, I think the esp is worth the peace of mind.
I'm probably going with the granger 10 yr/100k premium with $0 deductible. For a couple grand, it seems reasonable.
I'll probably add the key fob option too, if you lose one of those, it will pay for itself.

I am leaning towards 10 years 100K as well. 10 years is a long time to have a vehicle as much as I like technology. And at less than 2K, that is not bad. Probably the money I saved getting a demo.

Select the number of years you plan to keep the truck. Then multiply by estimated miles per year. Add lamp coverage. Done!

Easy Peasy 😄

I did 8 years, 100k, $0 deductible with Granger. That is how much I drive in 8 years, and that's when I plan on giving up my vehicle. I would calculate your annual mileage and multiply it by how long you normally keep your vehicles. That should tell you what to buy.

I did 8 years/100k premium care with keys and lights. First gen can have any number of unexpected failures that aren't covered by a recall. I also have an 8-year loan at a pretty good rate, so I'd rather not have to foot a repair bill while making a payment. After that, those monthly payments will more than cover repair cost and I'll more than likely be shopping for a new vehicle at the 8-year mark if something new and exciting catches my eye.

I'm planning on doing 10 years, 150k. My Legacy was 7 years old with over 100k miles when I sold it. Averaging 15k a year, and I'll probably add in the extra plans too for similar reasons others have mentioned. I'm a first time EV buyer buying a first gen EV. I don't normally buy the extended plans but I want the peace of mind this time around.

I tend to keep vehicles a long time. Prior to getting my Lightning last month, my primary vehicle was a 2009 Pilot with 163k miles on it.
I'd love to be able to do that with this, but have concerns about how well these are going to hold up.

I did, only because I knew the mileage I'd put on it. My commute is 110 miles per day 5 days per week. I have 9 kids so my wife and I tag team sports/dance etc.

None. The EV power train is already covered by the 8 year, 100k mile factory warranty.
