EDIT: walk-through now posted below.

I'm installing a Naviks in-motion bypass so I can enter directions on the go. Naviks has been of no help. THey have no directions of my model and keep sending me video / directions for the smaller screen. Finally, today, they told me, "once you get the screen out we can walk you through it." Duh, then I won't need their help. It's simple plug and play. I just don't wanna break everything taking the middle dash apart.

Personally, I'd find a video on YouTube and buy a set of trim removal tools before starting to tear things apart.

I'm way past that. I've searched high and low for videos with the 15.5" screen. Can't figure out how to remove bezel trip without snapping

I only have the attached for the 12” that I got from the 14th gen forum. Nothing for the 15”, not sure if it slightly helps though.

I'm definitely following, because this is something I for sure want to install.

My shop manual only has instructions for the 8- and 12-inch screens. That's pretty lame. Anybody happen to get a newer version than I did?

so I was able to install my Naviks. DO NOT go by the Expedition manual (the 15.5 dash looks the same but is not connected by the same bolts/screws. If you try to force it you will badly break things. It's actually a fairly easy install except for reaching some of the top screws.

The nav bypass works fine. FYI, the vehicle STILL knows you are moving and won't allow things like the little games, YouTube, etc. probably best. I have the magic box if I have to allow passengers entertainment while driving,

Here you go guys... Start by removing top console. Pops off easily with fingers or trim tool.

Then comes the hard part. The pic below is looking down from the point of view of the rear view mirror. You will see a central "shallow" hex screw. Remove that. The lateral left and right screws are DEEP. 6 inches deep. So you have to be quite careful trying to get them out. I used an extension on my socket. (The Expedition manual will tell you this is all that is needed to remove screen. NOT SO in the Lightning EV F150).

Next, remove the left and right side middle trim. Comes off easily with pry trim tool.

Next, you MUST remove the two hex screws I've circled below. In the Expedition manual, it states you don't have to, but you DO.

Now, you can remove the entire screen. Pull straight back toward you. The entire area I've circled in red below comes off. Put a little towel down to protect screen. There is really no reason to disconnect all the harness wires except the one needed to install your in-motion bypass .

Lastly, insert your cable between the module and the cord head I've circled below. Make sure connection tight. Test that it works BEFORE you reconnect everything.

Is this any different from the little boxes that you can just plug into the usb of the car?

Aww man really? It still "knows" you're moving. While being able to enter directions without voice input is nice, another big reason I wanted to install the bypass kit was to allow my passenger to play the games and such while on a long road trip!

Does anyone else know of a way to get those games to work while the truck is in motion?

honestly, that was what I really wanted too. After dealing A LOT with Naviks back and forth, I don't think they EVER tested it on a Lightning. I think their claim of it working was theoretical based on an Expedition.

however, I have the Magic Box, so I can always connect that way.
